I received a $5 poker bonus clearing at 3.5 pts for each $1 (So 17.5 pts needed). I have 2 questions:

1) I play a tournament with a $5 buyin and I lose. Do I still have to get the 17.5 pts or is the bonus considered done?

2) I play a tournament with a $5 buyin and I win $200. That $200 can not be withdrawn until I get 17.5 pts right?

Someone mentioned that the 5$ Bonus I was told about in the email I got for my birthday might only be available in the Casino. I have never played Casino at 888 (or anywhere else really, unless the brain dead spin and go counts) so I dont know how to check that account. I thought the gift would be for 888 Poker, but, as you can see, there is no $5 deposited in my 888 poker account. Here is a SS I took today of my 888 poker account. I have not played from my 888 account for quite a while (yea, with 5 cents that will take AGES..... to use up) so it cant be that I got the bonus and played it away.

Even if that is what I will probably do...... If I ever get it....

I find that the 888 software is excellent these days. A few years ago it used to be terrible.
I really like the site and the games and the softness of the opposition but there is one thing stopping me from playing all my poker at 888 :
Your VIP scheme sucks. At the stakes I play it is completely pointless, even worse than poker stars. Even if you get 1500 points a month and get up to Gold, which means a hell of a lot of poker, and is virtually impossible at micro stakes, you still only earn the equivalant of 4.5%.
Your promotions are good but you have the basics all wrong which is sad cos as i say if your VIP scheme was good I would never play anywhere else.

If it was a casino bonus, you wouldn't see it there since you can't withdraw it. You would have needed to play the required casino game(s) and clear the bonus requirements. However, it probably expired by now. All the details would have been in the email.

Thanks. And I need to say "sorry" to the 888 rep for my "lame" comment. I was looking in the cashier and it gave me a balance of 5 cents, cause that is my balance that I can withdraw. In my profile it shows the bonus.

My bad, but it was a bit unclear to me, since I always have checked my balance under the cashier, but there it only shows withdraw-able amount, and any bonuses that are not yet cleared are not shown there.

Thanks Mootso.

Agreed!!!! The VIP deal on 888 is terrible! (as are the ridiculous VIP freerolls)

the VIP rewards system might be bad but you can just get reload bonuses all the time which aren't to difficult to clear.

Everytime you wish to make a deposit, just speak to a live support agent and they will always give you decent deal in general.

I think the vipscheme makes it softer , cause less regs will play and that has always been 888´s focus.

Also all that money can go into other rec promo´s making games yes softer.
you can always go back 2 regstars:D

I received a $5 Poker Bonus clearing at 3.5 pts for each $1 (So 17.5 pts needed). I have 2 questions:

1) I play a tournament with a $5 buyin and I lose. Do I still have to get the 17.5 pts or is the bonus considered done?

The bonus is considered done – players first play on the bonus and then on real money, so if you used the $5 in a $5 tournament and lost – the bonus is gone.

2) I play a tournament with a $5 buyin and I win $200. That $200 can not be withdrawn until I get 17.5 pts right?

You can withdraw $195, only the $5 is still restricted until you earn the points.

1) On that point, that is what I thought; BUT after trying it, nothing is like it should. I bought in a $5 tourney and busted before the money. I was due for a withdrawal so I went to the cashier and I still had $5 restricted because of the bonus. (According to you the bonus is supposed to be gone)

Although my bonus page said "no restriction". But look the bonus is still active. In those screen shots (1 in the cashier and 1 in the bonus page) I already made the withdrawal I wanted but I'm still limited.

2) On that point I think in some cases it does not work as you said. If I withdraw before clearing the bonus, 888 will take back the $195 I won plus the bonus. As your bonus policy states:

11. In some cases, if the amount initially deposited in order to generate the bonus is withdrawn, the current bonus amount (and any winnings which may have been generated through the wagering of the bonus amount) will be cancelled.

I got disconnected
all other internet worked

To all,

We have had more server issues even after it seemed that it stabilized. This is absolutely the top priority to fix as it is not good for any parties involved, so we are working on it with all of our effort and apologize for any difficulties you've had.

So when will these 'server issues' get 'stabilized'???

I typically play cash tables so if a site is disconnecting me it isn't a disaster or anything (sure I lose what I may have in the pot in that one hand but not a huge deal).
On the weekends I like to play tournaments & it is impossible to play on a site that you don't feel confident in.
Yesterday I was disconnected a couple times while playing SNAP.. today I was in a tournament doing quite well... and then POOF! No more 888. (all my other tables are still running).
I'm not about to reboot my computer because of 888Poker... not while I have 3 other sites going & tables running from each.

I won't be playing on the site again until things get ironed out. How will I know? Idk... I guess I'll just check back on this thread (& others similiar on other forums).

Looks like I'm done there now as far as thinking I'll be playing in tournaments on 888. Too bad as I was hoping to be able to play in some.

Any bets that if I write into support they're going to suggest the disconnect is a problem on my end? (even though I haven't had a SINGLE disconnect on any other site for at least a couple of months, which is probably well over 100,000 hands).

Playing the CC freeroll on 888... decided to reg. MTT there at same time.
That was a mistake :( Instead of it being better... it is worse.

Who could we write to for a possible refund? (I find the 888 support a tad confusing... not wanting to read thru the FAQ stuff). The buyins I lost were real small but it is the principle of it. Also, it makes it much more difficult to stay in a positive mindset for the rest of the games I have running. (aka, 'its not alot of fun')

Neil, you could use neteller. It is free, quick and simple to use with 888 and most other major sites.

Hi guys, apologies for any inconvenience caused by the disconnections many of you have experienced recently. Addressing the connectivity to our services is our top priority and the tech teams, together with our partners, are working with the highest priority to resolve this.
