Hello everyone,

For the first time in history, Poker After Dark hosted 888poker Week at the PokerGo Studios in Las Vegas. It is the result of a remarkable partnership between 888poker and Poker Central – one that is certain to bring about even more prestigious and beneficial promotions and events.

This time around, it was the turn of the Brits, who were privy to an exclusive offer – one that could possibly result in a $50K payday.

Welcome to 888poker’s Weekly Deal, with all the best news, results and insights from the past week.

THIS WEEK: November 11, 2018

Another Runner-Up Finish for Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton
The $1,050 buy-in , $50K GTD Whale saw 43 players rebuy 17 times to create a $60,000 prize pool. Among those to compete for a part of it but fail to cash were 888poker Ambassador Chris “888Moorman” Moorman, Simon “Isildur1337x” Mattsson, and bubble boy Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt.

The top six players got paid including “floatmasta” (6th - $3,300), “ribamech15” (5th - $4,500), “Madeon1994” (4th - $6,000), and “wellyxx” (3rd - $9,000). After 5 hours and 39 minutes, a deal was struck between the final two with the UK’s Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton finishing in second place for $17,774 and Sweden’s “Svengate” taking the title and $19,426 in prize money.

It marked Grafton’s second runner-up finish in an 888poker major in two weeks. Back on October 28, he took second in the Sunday Mega Deep for $14,877.

Alex “Dynoalot” Difelice Prevails in Sunday Mega Deep for $20K
The $215 buy-in Sunday Mega Deep saw 352 players rebuy 166 times to create a $103,600 prize pool. That was paid to the top 48 players including “PulledPorker” (28th - $704), Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (19th - $1,005), “AnaMarquez” (12th - $1,813), Niklas “tutten7” Åstedt (8th - $2,331), Anton “anteen” Bertilsson (5th - $5,439), Alexandru “alexos888” Baron (4th - $8,029), and “KelevraJesus” (3rd - $11,137).

After 10 hours and 40 minutes, Canada’s Alex “Dynoalot” Difelice prevailed over Sweden’s “Moliere123” to claim the title and accompanying $19,943 first-place prize. The win comes a little over a month after Difelice made a deep run in the Sept. 30th Sunday Mega Deep, ultimately finishing 17th for $966. He also won the Mega Deep back on July 15 for $11,223.

“wh4tishat3” Wins Monsoon for Second Time in 2018
The $55 buy-in, $10K GTD Monsoon attracted 194 players to the virtual felt. They accounted for 57 rebuys to generate a $12,550 prize pool that was paid out to the top 27 spots including to “geringonsa” (19th - $125.50), “NakedNaked” (15th - $188),”nlfreddie” (7th - $502), Bryan “DePittsterje” Paris (4th -$1,098), and “TheMulletman” (3rd - $1,475).

After just over seven hours of play, Malta’s “wh4tishat3” defeated Romania’s Bogdan “Ph4N888” Nicolae in heads-up play to win $2,698. It was the second time this year “wh4tishat3” won the Monsoon, having done so back on April 26 for $2,666.

Germany’s “tier999111” Closes Out the Sunday Deepstack Monsoon
Meanwhile, the $55 buy-in Sunday Deepstack Monsoon drew 182 players who rebought 59 times, which surpassed the $10K GTD by generating a $12,050 prize pool. The top 27 finishers got a piece of it including “GramNaKartke” (20th - $120.50), Sam “sammygrinder” Grafton (13th - $180.75), “BlackBrahman” (9th - $241), “popsnpoker” (6th - $602.50), and “SmithStudent” (3rd - $1,416).

After nearly 10 hours of play, Germany’s “tier999111” bested Romania’s “GherilaZ” heads up to win the $2,591 top prize. You might recall that back on October 21, “tier999111” finished second in the $55 Sunday DeepStack Monsoon.

“Malygos1987” Captures Himself a Sunday Starfish

The $22 buy-in Sunday Deepstack Starfish surpassed its $5,000 GTD by drawing 268 players who rebought 70 times, That meant a $6,760 prize pool was on tap and distributed amongst the top 36 players including “jasperman1” (30th - $51), “yucedal1” (12th - $108), “Vital_ya” (7th - $237), “IllmaticX” (5th - $392), and “GrbmBDPzzY” (4th - $575).

After “Jonny_Rubble” bowed out in third place for $764, the title came down to Brazil’s “Biagily” and the UK’s “Malygos1987.” After 8 hours and 40 minutes, the latter came out on top to win $1,382. It was a bit of redemption for “Malygos1987,” who back in May 2017 finished runner-up in the XL Inferno Event #5: $15,000 Breeze for $3,517.

Thanks!!

“traverrrr” the Bounty Hunter; PKOs the Competition for More Than $6,500
The $215 buy-in Turbo Mega Deep Progressive Knockout (PKO) had 77 players rebuy 16 times, which meant a $20,000 prize pool ($10,700 in the regular prize pool, $9,300 in the bounty pool) was up for grabs. The $22 buy-in, $5K GTD Sunday Deepstack Starfish had 295 runners account for 105 rebuys, which blew by the guarantee by creating an $8,000 prize pool. Among the top 45 to get paid were “Maklay36” (15th - $100), “vallaelanik” (9th - $140), “Hooooooold” (6th - $352), and “gzp974” (3rd - $880).

At only criticism is that the 888 freerol is only on Sunday's; IT would be better if there was a diary 888 freerool.

Hello everyone,

In Short Deck poker all deuces, threes, fours, and fives are removed from the deck – leaving 36 cards to play with, which can result in a more action-packed game!

Sean Chaffin and 888poker decided to learn more about this rising popular poker format - for more info click here.
