I thought that would be where you do it. However the top one is to opt in to the actual ironman itself. I have tried opting out and back in but it didn't give me the option of medals or free roll... Thanks for the dates

I believe you have to make that decision at the beginning of the month when you opt in. If you ever think there is a chance you'll play in the freeroll then take the tourney tickets. You can always exchange the tourney tickets for iron man medals if you end up not being able to play.

Ahh ok, I knew it had popped up on me a few times before. I might email FTP and ask if I can swap it for this month... Thanks TPC!

You're welcome.

Yeah, it's worth shooting them an email. Doesn't make sense to me on why they would let you convert tourney tickets to bonus medals, but not changing your mind and taking tourney tickets instead of bonus medals.

They changed the tourney/bonus medal option recently (last big update). You no longer choose at the beginning of the month. Instead everyone gets a tourney ticket and those who want bonus medals have to convert them.

I don't really understand the Iron Man thing. My FT avatar has a medallion that says I qualified for Bronze last month but I'm guessing it's next to impossible to qualify for any IM status at 2nl.

Ahh, now that you mention it, I kinda remember hearing something like that.

If you play many hours and many tables 20 days out of the month it's possible for sure.

Why not click on IM page and see if you are getting more points per day then you think. If you are getting bronze no sense in missing out on FR or medals. Plus if you get it this month and had it last you should get at least $50 end of year bonus. Worth checking at least.

No, you can't buy bonuses with FTP's. So as I said in the OP, think of Medals as a second set of points that you use in a different points store.

Below is what you can buy in the Iron Man points store.
what is the benefit of purchasing your own table?

also, thank you for breaking it all down. i just started iron man this month and this has helped me better understand how it works. i have atleast 1 point everyday in december so far. im hoping to qualify for silver status in january.

There is no benefit in purchasing your own table, unless you think chicks dig dudes with their own table on Full Tilt:D You don't get any rake from it or anything, just something cool, I guess, if you think that sort of thing is cool.

The one point a day is for the 1 a day freeroll, which is different from the Iron Man promotion. Nit picky by me for pointing that out, but whatever.

Good luck with hitting silver. Just make sure you plan your month out and you'll be able to hit it pretty easily.

Also, this thread is a little dated. Full Tilt has made a lot of changes to the Iron Man promotion. As I mentioned above, the point totals have changed. 50 is still the min, but the others are 125 and 250. There's also an option to earn Iron and Gold quicker with 500 points a day.

Also, there is the Black card which is even a higher level of averaging 500 points a day over 100 days. The difference with the black card promotion is you can make up days. If you only earned 300 points for two days, you could always earn 900 points one day to make up for the two 300 point days. I'm playing 25nl and think it's a big stretch for a 25nl player to earn that many points a day. You're looking at 4 hours a day, seven days a week while playing ten tables at the same time. That's a huge grind, but not impossible. However, I'm thinking I'll have to wait for the Black Card till I get to 50nl.

Good post and solid organization. I wondered into this post because yesterday, on the first of the month, I played on ftp for a while, mostly low level sngs and some cash games. I generated about 37 ftps, plus 74 bonus ftps which don't count to iron man, and was considering trying to reach 50 ftps by the days end. I then realized I probably couldn't maintain that for 20 days. After reading your entry and learning it would take 2 hours a day with 4 tables of 10NL I'm glad I made the decision to skip out on iron man.

Just posting to confirm that the IM end of year bonus can still be cleared concurrently with another bonus. Double bonus clearing is the nuts.

re: Iron Man Bonus
Every six months Full Tilt gives Iron Man bonuses. For every month you hit the Iron level, you would get $100. So if you hit Iron every month, you would get a $600 bonus. If you hit Bronze every month you would get $150 bonus. Basically the break down is Bronze is worth $25 a month, Silver $50, Gold $75 and Iron $100.
.........

YOU DONT JUST GET THE MONEY...
YOU HAVE TO PLAY AND EARN POINTS TO RELEASE YOUR BONUS MONEY!!

(they dont make that very clear...)

I think they make it pretty clear in that they say it is a bonus, and pretty much universally in poker, you have to clear a bonus, otherwise it would say, "If you get x amount of points a month, you get $x amount of FREE money"

I just started using the IM last month. I never really paid attention to it before. I am taking it slow. Last month I qualified for the one a day. This month I am shooting for the 50 points a day and see where we end up. Trying to do this in Rush .05/.10 NL. Takes around 700 hands to make the 50 points. .10/.25 Rush takes about 400 hands but I am not rolled for that. I tried yesterday, lost $20 in about 16 hands, reloaded and luckily, made $26 after about 120 hands, I got off that table right away! Don't know what I was thinking

It is hard to get into any of the iron man freerolls and does it give you money for being bronze silver or gold? That would be cool and what can you buy with iron man medals?

READ THIS THREAD!!! THAT'S WHAT THE POINT OF THIS THREAD WAS!!! ALL YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED.

Anyone know why they gave me 500 points?

ironman.jpg

This is the third month I've been going for the one-a-day bonus, and the second month I've received 500 points on the third Tuesday on the month. I did not do anything special to get them as far as I know, and they don't seem to help me at all since I only need one point per day, and I already had that.
