One things I've noticed, don't know if it was this way before the Take 2 promo or not since I seldom played $10NL on Full Tilt but over half the table buys in for $2 and a lot of the time they won't do a normal raise but go all in.

With so much folding to any raise, even a 10 cent one, it takes me far more hands to get the 1 point than it should.

Maybe I need to play later in the day when it's more Americans and less Russians/Ukranians/Poles.

Ted I am seeing a huge influx of Brazilian players in the $10NL at Tilt,

it should take alot less time. you don't need to be in a hand to get a FTP. you just got to have been dealt cards. its sound like the calender isnt updating quickly. try looking at the cashier when you got 2 tables up. then figure 1ftp no happy hour 2ftps for 2x happy hour etc..

Yea, I have been noticing the calendar lagging a ton. One day it was about 45 minutes before any of my Take-Two points showed up, so I have been keeping the cashier open just to make sure, even though it really doesn't matter because I don't stop at just 1 point, I'm taking full advantage of the double points.

I'll be going for my 15th day some time after 1 p.m. EST to get triple points while I'm at it. Finished another task in the Pre-flop Play challenge for the FullTilt Academy and I am most of the way done with the final two tasks. The portion of the challenge about playing 100 consecutive hands without limping into a pot has probably saved me a ton of BBs. Pre-flop limping is a bad habit I've picked up playing freerolls.

Ted, I just played a 1c2c cap 9player table and a 2c5c nl both tables O8, payed my blinds on both tables and in 2 orbits of the cap table had 3 points, day 15 done & $25 in the bank. I pick tables where the average pot is at least $1, easy peasy.:D

I was on vacation for the first part of the month so I got a late start. I just hit my first level for $5 but
I am also up money while playing not to mention the points as I have done most of this during Triple Happy Hour.

Yes, but those players will also more frequently fold when they correctly read your strength, adjust to your preflop range, and just generally reduce your edge.

Move to higher stakes if you can afford it... but never stop playing with folks who call raises with 83o. ;)

True . . . playing against good players is usually a slow upwards investment for me, but playing with donks I either get a lot very quickly or lose a lot very fast. The only thing about people who call raises with 8 3 off is that I have such a hard time figuring out what they have, because usually it can be anything.

Exactly, you want people to call you with 83o, especially when you move up in stakes. Don't be results oriented on this one play, just keep making it and over the long term you will profit with AK over 83o. OTOH don't fall into the common beginner trap of overplaying it either -- learn to get away from it quickly when it doesn't improve and the villains aren't folding.

Playing the penny stakes is not much if any different from freerolls, so you can expect calls with ATC as routine. Remember that to win against donks, you must tighten up a lot, playing very few hands while value betting hard on the ones you do play. Make use of strategies like traps and the "rope-a-dope" when you hit the nuts. While having a table full of donks can be highly frustrating and lead to bad play out of desperation (and hence why it's recommended to move up a few stake levels as soon as your BR allows), you should always want to see 2-3 donks at the table.

Yeah, I suppose I just need to realize that this person will call with anything and, therefore, he could have a low two pair against my top pair with a great kicker. Actually, after reading this, I realized that I really don't play much differently against donks than I do against decent players, and I should change it up. I have a harder time beating donks than I do decent players, actually. Too many sucks outs because I have no idea when to stay in and when to fold up a good hand. I'll work on it.

Thanks!

Got into it but found that it can be very slow to show pt status (the ftp pts not withstanding). I've found that I can play and try to gage timing but I've actually been on longer enough to gain over 2 pts and that doesn't carry ovr. Tables run fast tool.

Look at your points in the Cashier window. That updates very often, you just have to pay attention to if you are getting double or triple points and divide by that number if you are. Much better way that watching the TakeTwo Website.

Actually I keep track of the points as they are earned on a seperate sheet of paper so I'm pretty certain when the 1 point is reached. The problem I'm seeing is that well over 50% of the hands in the early morning are done preflop so no rake or points.

The other poster was right, I have seen more Brazilian players lately also.

I'm thinking of just moving up to the $25NL to get away from these types.

Maybe try the deepstack tables? You can still buy-in for 100bb but the min buy-in is 50bb so no shorties.

Seems to me that all you'd need is the eventual hand where the big pre flop bet gets called. A couple $4 pots later and you can leave.

But they never play past the flop?

My problem with the Take Two promotion...

My problem with the Take Two promotion... is my plan to execute it as miserly as I can - playing as little as possible to win the $50 (due to my curmudgeonly gripe about the unfairness of the way they handle rakeback) just isn't working as well as I had wanted.

And it's obvious enough why... I assume full tilt had pretty much worked this into their evil plan. ;)

I am a loose player, and one of two things happen when I play enough hands to win a point.

1. Sometiems I get stuck just a little.. and spend more than a point stubbornly winning my way back up to my buyins - or -

2. I sit at a table where my opponents want to shove chipstacks at me like it's Christmas, and I just have a hard time peeling myself away from easy money.

So I have been known to make as many as FIVE points in a single session. (Haha)

Ahh well. So much for perfect execution of my vindictive plan.

Still... I look forward to my fiddy.

It isn't played often, just a little promo they have. The first time it was done was back in January, but only from the 26th to the 1st. I wouldn't expect it to be coming back that often, even though a lot of people are getting into it.

I rarely play cash games(I play mainlt SnGs). However, I will play for "free" money. I two or three table the .01/.02 NL tables. I just started playing at the deep stack tables. This way the point accumulate faster.

A perfect 16 for 16 so far. I've actually been able to start making a profit just from cash play, and not just the bonuses. I've been playing more .05/.10 Stud Hi recently, as it seems to be giving me minimal grief. The $100 bankroll goal I set for myself seems quite in reach.

Since day 1, I"ve been raking FT points just enough for the promo. It"s now day 16 and all I got to do is play for nine days to get the $50 bonus. At the same time, I will be eligible to play in the Iron Man once a day freeroll. Good Luck and see you at the tables.

Just got my 17th straight day in the Take 2, up 72 cents for the day and 60 cents overall. Im not a cash game player and only putting 40cents on each table (my BR on FT is only $18). The $50 bonus will give me a decent amount to work with on FT, and I want to make the One-A-Day and try my luck in that $2k freeroll, hopefully early October Ill have a decent roll on FT.

Hit level three today. As it stands I am up $15 ($25 bonus - $10 lose at FT since the promo started) and need to play 10 out of the last 13 days to collect the full $50.

I just hit the 2nd level last night. I missed the first 6 days so that really screwed me out of the full $50, but I can still get my $25

16 or 17 so far. And my bankroll is up by maybe $25 too. :D Last night, I went a little crazy. There's usually a waiting list for the O8 tables. Seems everyone wants in on a full table rather than start a new one. So I waitlisted a bunch, and when the rapid fire of tables became open, I accepted all of them. :p Before I knew it, it was 5 tables, and starting losing at most of them (not much though). I had won at all 4 tables the night before, racking up 17 FTPs in the process. But not an easy game to multi-, from now on, 3 max.
