I love ACR the tourneys are awesome my only issue is ... In the beginning of every tourney I've played I fair well even great but as the tourney progresses closer to the end suddenly I couldn't catch a cold ! I understand that cards go cold and its a random shuffle but every tourney so far !! Maybe I'm paranoid but It isn't just one tourney ,
Something to consider here, because in taking at what you are saying at face value, here's one perspective.
At the start of tournaments, you are deep stacked (100 or more Big Blinds), and you're focused primarily on playing your game, which is a good thing!!!
As tournaments progress, unless you're accumulating chips relative to blind levels increasing, you're ending up with a shorter stack, thus you start to think about things like "being card dead". Then when these thoughts creep in, your mindset has changed and you are now more fixated on how you're not getting
hands.
Being card dead with 80 big blinds is different than being card dead with under 10-15 big blinds. There's more time early in tournaments to wait for spots to accumulate chips, whereas you're now in the mode of (with 10-15 big blinds) having to double-up.
Tournament poker also has a ton of variance, and we all lose WAY more of these than we ever win, so don't stress out too much about how you're running, because I promise you that this happens to everyone. Also, if you don't play a LOT of tournaments, it's even more noticeable when you're running bad. These people you see who play tournaments for a living, they lose WAY more than they win, but because of the volume they put in, they do sprinkle in some big wins here and there. It's just the nature of tournament poker.
Hopefully this was even a little bit helpful for you, because I know how frustrating it can be when you're getting close but you don't get there. It sucks!!! But when you win, there's no better feeling.
