Now table Hyalite is frozen for all players except one. I keep closing out the table and reconnecting, and it works for about 5 seconds each time. Only one player out of 5 has remained connected, KimJong something. This is the 6th table I have experienced this at this morning and I will stop posting specific instances. At one table a guy kept saying go to the other table when he would temporarily reconnect simultaneously to me. I've noticed some tables running as normal, but I think this has to be some kind of outage.

Edit: It's also strange the main tournament lobby is showing that there have been no tournaments running for two hours.

Better to have tried and failed than never have tried at all......

Are you really upset that ACR could not afford to keep losing 200k per game? Making it a 500k game makes perfect sense. If the keep the same # of entries, it would be a huge overlay.

To remain competitive, you gotta try stuff.

That being said, they still have a ton of freerolls for other major MTT's, what more could you want?

Actually, I was quite happy with the overlays. What I'm upset about is that ACR is already breaking their promise that the Million Dollar GTD would be every Sunday in October. After all the hype and self-promotion, the million dollar guarantee only lasted the first two Sundays of the month! That, and the fact that they're eliminating dozens upon dozens of freerolls, not only into the big Sunday tourney, but the little $10 on-demand freerolls, too.

You sound like a shill for America's Cardroom, Michael. The only reason players put up with the lousy ACR software, constant disconnections and poor customer support is the chance to play freerolls and get in on some huge overlays. Everyone should be upset that those are going away.

What are you talking about? Got the lobby open now and everything looks right!

What I would like to see are more super sats to the big game.

Guys,

Our $5 Million GTD Promo is being restructured with the two remaining $1,000,000 GTD tourneys ($540 buy-ins) being changed to four $500,000 GTDs ($270 buy-ins) on October 18th and 25th, and November 1st and 8th.

Everything is not right. The IT team is working on the issue that currently exists.

This sounds like a nice compromise. $530 is a big buy-in even for a semi-pro, let alone the average Joe. I'd suggest going even a bit lower to the standard $215 with a $109 Second Chance event. I might play a couple tournies at those numbers. But I definitely would rather do 4x $270 than 2x $530, so good move ACR.

When I opened the lobby, it looked correct, but when I last looked, the 500K's are showing.

I like this new idea. I hope there are lots of sats, and supersats.

In other words, "We regret to inform our players that we LIED about the Million Dollar Sunday tournament prize pool being guaranteed every Sunday in October. We're cutting our guaranteed prize money in half and extending them into November, in a desperate attempt to remove our foot from our own mouth."

Seriously, ACR Rep? Yup, if you add enough additional GTD tournaments to your so-called "Million Dollar Sunday" schedule, you may actually con people into believing that this $5 Million Guarantee that your advertising is legit. Those of us who finished High School can see right through your veiled attempt to make the math work. Clearly you cut the guaranteed money in half because you guys are losing your shirts on the massive overlays every Sunday. Even a grade schooler can see that.

No one expects that a company do something in which it is continuously loosing money. ACR is still putting up $5 million of guarantees, just over 7 tournaments instead of 5. It's not just that they cut the guarantee - what you've got to remember is that they also cut the buy-in in half. Therefore if the same number of players that played in the last two MDS play in this weekend's $500k, there will still be a huge overlay. What ACR is counting on is that more recs will be willing to pony up $270 instead of $530, thus making a bigger field event and reducing the chance of overlay.

I'm sorry, but 2 X $1,000,000 = $2,000,000 as does 4 X $500,000. To quote you:

Even a grade schooler can see that.

Seriously, ACR Rep?

The ACR Rep has been great in this forum, especially recently, and I don't think you can find any other Rep here who does as good of a job, including HUD reps, etc. I understand you're frustrated but don't take it out on them (putting your foot in their mouth and accusing them of it), they're just the messenger!

You guys can't even keep your free rolls going this is insane. I was leading in the one that began a 2:14 set and with 56 players left you suspended the tourney! Funny thing is I just joined the site last week and was debating wether to deposit for the million dollar event this coming weekend...but i guess there's no more million dollar event either!

What refund? This was a free roll. I was the chip leader at the time you suspended it and didn't get anything...so obviously NOBODY was awarded anything.

10 freaking dollars and you guys couldn't even split that amongst the remaining players as a sign of good faith? Ok then.

I just won a supersat to a sat to the big game. How do I find it?

Seat to 3522318.

I found one already started, but have no option to use a ticket to enter it, and since tourney #'s never show, and I can't search for them, well, I'm confused!

Hey Bob, your title lists you as an "Expert Member", so why do you seem to completely miss my point? In every splashy ACR banner ad and every email they've sent to players promoting this so-called "Million" Dollar Sunday, they promised a $1,000,000 prize pool for every Sunday in October and now they are going back on that promise. Adding two more HALF Million dollar tournaments in November to make up the difference doesn't suddenly make everything right. If I promise to pay back a $10,000 loan to you tomorrow and then change my mind and say that instead of one payment, I'll give you $100 a week for the next 100 weeks, you'd be outraged, even though I'm EVENTUALLY paying back my $10,000 loan.

Think of it this way: If I own a retail business that ran ads promoting a "buy-one, get-one free" sale in October, I'd be obligated to honor that sale for the entire month, no matter how much money I lost or how few customers came into my store. Not doing so would not only be dishonest, it would also risk pissing off and alienating my customers. It's a dishonest way to do business, period. End of story.

Thanks Scooper thats awesome news sorry about that for some reason i didn't see anyone answering that question

Your welcome Ace. No need to say sorry, I think I should. I wasn't sure what you were referring to at first since you didn't quote me, which is fine. When I went back and read my post it seemed kind of smart alec to me. I'm not even positive your initial question was answered in this thread. I have seen the answer on cardschat at some point. I didn't intend anything negative, I just pointed out kind of bluntly that the company line on a mobile application was confirmed at some point by the ACR rep. It was a poor attempt to answer you question and a little too blunt. There was good intent there on my part too, as I understand not wanting to peruse an entire forum to find a simple answer.

If my memory serves me correctly they said it's coming soon, but didn't offer any timetable. I'm not positive when I first found out, but it feels like "soon" is passing. The ACR rep usually responds to that question if they haven't in a while. I wonder how the rollout of Mac is working out. That could have an impact on the mobile application release date. Welcome to cardschat and good luck at the tables!

That is correct guys,

We know that the mobile application is a plus and we are working hard on getting the version available. Currently we do not have an estimated time for when it will be ready.

I will let you know any outcome.

--Re: Sats, and super sats

When we win the sat seat, we really need a link to that target game, actually, the link should be there when we decide to enter a sat. So that we can be sure our schedule is good for the target game.

I know there is the template (your description) in the scrolling window on the right side of the lobby, but that doesn't give us the info we want (think structure) about the target game. Hate to suggest this, but look how Stars does it.

--Re; changing the Big Game this month;

I have watched over the years many sites suffer from PROMOTIONITIS!, They got to thinking they could garner the kind of enthusiasm and excitement that was common before Black Friday. They end up with these big overlays, which look good to many players, but have a definite negative impact on both the site, and the players. How is the impact negative for the players? Overlays forced the wider spread implementation of late registration for one.

Example because it directly affected me; Merge ran a cheap HORSE game, every day for several years. Twas my favorite game, of all the games on all the sites on the internet! Typical patronage was around 40 players, more on weekends. There were many players I liked, and knew (as one can know internet acquaintances). It was routine for many of those 40 players. Merge decided to build up this game by making it a guaranteed game with a prize pool this game seldom, naturally ever achieved. Merge lost money on that game for several months and in the end canceled the game altogether. That game was the reason I would ever think about redepositing at Merge. They canceled that game and canceled my reason to play there.

That is just one, personal, example. I could probably remember more, but the point is that the Promotion Teams at most sites get overly excited about what might be, ignoring the pitfalls that have been shown, will happen.

Guarantees should be determined after the fact. Ex; A particular UNGUARANTEED tourney has run for 2 months and averaged a prize pool of $16,400... It might be right to promote that game as a $15K Guaranteed tourny. The site gets the flash of the Promo, with no reasonable downside.

With WPN being the best option most US residents have, it behoves them to act responsibly.

I don't NEED a guarantee to play poker. I'm a poker player and will play the game without any guarantee. What I want is clarity and simplicity. I would love more variety in game choices at WPN.

End semi-rant! Thank you for your patience.:D

Are there no longer $0.55 On demand tournaments? I don't see them in the lobby (at least on Mac client)
