On my phone for this post. Please pardon mis-spelling and poor grammar in advanced.
This post is about my Macbook pro client that routinely looses the table connection at least once during tournament games, especially when I'm moved to another table. I also use a PC laptop Windows 10 home at times and sometimes have the same issue. Both hard to quantify.
When a disconnect occurs - observed by no
hands being dealt - sometimes I observe - action I'll describe as players with action - as I cant see any cards, but bets occuring, client making chip sounds.
I can usually reconnect before I get to the blinds but I know I've missed opportunities because of this issue. Several times multiple orbits have passed me by.
My solution now, instead of waiting to see if the client recovers - I have patiently waited several times - is to close the table, try the "take your seat" button - works maybe 20% of the time.
If that doesnt work I close the program, relaunch, and then select the tournament. The client sometimes hangs in this process as well.
I'm very internet savvy so assume I'm presenting my experience accurately, and that I've considered the likely issues like internet connectivity.
For my working solution above, the ACR client checks for a new version on each load. If I didnt have an internet connection, that process would hang, and further I would not be able to log back in
It seems like some sort of software hook issue when a disconnect occurs between the client and server somehow related to when a player moves from one table to another.
The strange thing is that my experience is intermittent. 80% of the time I move from one table to another seemlessly.
I use a HUD.
Just reporting my experience. I have not reported my experience to support at ACR.
