You can still log in and play, you just can't get to their website at the moment. I'd say they'll all have alternate domains up and running by the end of the weekend. The real danger in all this is if FTP/Star give up the US market because these ****heads are making things too expensive.

Now you can't even play money games on pokerstars and Full Tilt. Even freerolls that have money rewarded, so I just uninstalled them and got on Lock Poker. It's not too bad of a site. Wish it was a little more advanced as far as games, schedule, and number of players. But hey, I was spoiled with FTP and PS I guess. As soon as online poker is legalized we will get all the big boys back. Until then, guess I gotta settle for lock and carbon.

I downloaded FT from the .uk site but when I try to play a real money game I get the error that says US players can't play in real money games.

It has never been illegal for us in the US to play online poker. Its not even illegal for FT or PS to allow us to play online poker. The illegal aspect comes into it when trying to deposit. UIGEA made it so you couldn't, the poker sites found ways around it by committing fraud. Now they are in trouble.

I believe it was made illegal in 2006. Here's a link that some might find interesting on the law passed and the bill currently in congress to legalize it.

No, no, no. The UIGEA had nothing to do with playing online. It forbids financial institutions from moving money in/out of illegal gaming sites. Virtually all of us here in the US, and certainly any who have been playing awhile, are well aware of the UIGEA.

It has never been illegal to play online.

Did you do the update today? .... I'm asking this because I didn't do it... I haven't logged off since early Friday morn. I am able to do p2p transfers (have done a few w friends from Can.) 'but' my friends did the update & they're not able to do p2p transfers (they haven't done the update from the new website page... just did the one that came up on puter yesterday/late last night.. err.. prob ~3am'ish' EST).

I'm not able to access the 'my promotions' page or reg. for the CC freeroll on Tues. (or the bonus CGE games we won)

Same here. How are US players downloading FT and playing? It won't let me.

What's your plan by staying logged in PO?

Why not try and move funds now if you still can?

The only thing illegal is the money transfer thing. So if you winnings started with freerolls and you built up a roll, shouldn't it be illegal for the government to freeze your funds? or any winnings for that matter.

Maybe a class action lawsuit should be the next step....that and getting online poker added to all the exemptions already in the UIGEA (or would that be too simple?).
