I've had the afternoon to think about this while mowing the lawn.
Tomorrow will be my last day playing on Full Tilt,
real money or otherwise. I will uninstall it and since .com is not available, will not be able to reinstall it. I refuse to continue playing on a site that gladly takes rake and fees for U.S. players at the real money tables even though there is a very good probability you (as the player) will never be able to get your money out of there.
Remember - the DOJ has done something very insidious. Follow the logic.
1. They created the law that made the financial transactions illegal.
2. They began enforcement threats on the financial institutions to restrict methods of depositing money onto the sites. This didn't work as well as they thought it would.
3. By creating a block in the middle, they forced the payouts to be more difficult and in some alledged cases, a bit shady. Granted, a check from a "florist" is a bit fishy.
It was at this point that the DOJ/FBI had the leverage to go after the targets that they wanted to get to in the first place.
By going for the proverbial throat of these sites, the DOJ can wash their
hands clean of any accusations that they are against
online poker. They are going after criminals that circumvented the law by providing dubious means to transfer the money in/out of the sites. That is the essense of money launderiing. If the allegations hold, there will never be another penny paid out to U.S. players as all the options will be completely shut down. After all is said and done, the lawyers will be the winners here.
I'll take my game to the local poker club and play live. I'll go to Vegas if I want to play for money. I'm done with online poker until this mess gets figured out.
Adios FT. You can keep my $2 freeroll winnings.
