A minimum of 100 x buy-in for tournaments or BB for cash games is the traditional answer. This could be just a $100 or $5000, depending on what stakes you play at. But, for me personally, $100 would be enough to feel comfortable. I don't want to deposit my own money though – I'd rather build up my bankroll by playing freerolls.

Yes, you need more money to play at high limits, but if you play at low limits, 100 bytes at your limits are enough, but when you have more money it allows you to play poker a little wider and more correctly and you won't get stuck out of money

With 100 buy-ins I will always enjoy my poker sessions.Along with good freerolls is much better.

The more the better, but I like that there is more than 1 K !
The more the merrier, this is definitely not about poker :)
Personally, $100 is more than enough for me. But if, for example, you need a bankroll in the amount of $1000, then having 100 in your bankroll and 900 on your bank card is, in my opinion, the same thing, but safer.

That totally depends on, what games you want to play. It also depends on, if the money in the poker account is supposed to be a bankroll. Lets say you like to play Sunday Million on pokerstars 1-2 times per month, and in between this you dont play at all. Then the money needed in the account is the $109, it costs to buy in, and not a penny more. Then if you dont cash, you deposit another $109 next time, you want to play, and so on.

If on the other hand you like to play every day, then you likely want to have some sort of bankroll or budget sitting in the account, so that you dont need to constantly make new deposits. If its just a poker budget until the next paycheck, maybe its enough to have something like 20 BIs for cash, 30 BIs for SnGs and 50 BIs for MTTs. As an actual bankroll though, meaning you do not want to deposit again, then the numbers are more like 30-50 BIs for cash, 50-75 BIs for SnGs and 100+ BIs for MTTs. And of course this can only work, if you are a winning player. Losing players can only have a budget not a bankroll :)

Hi :)
$300-$500
Although to be honest, I rarely have more than $100. But I'm pretty disciplined and rarely spend more than 3% of my bankroll per day.
Good luck :)

How long is a Piece of String?
It really doesn't matter how much a Player has, because someone playing a 1% Bankroll Strategy is in a perfect position with $100, buying in to $1 Games. It really is dependant on your Buy-ins and Bankroll, A player using a 2% strategy would be able to buy-in to the same level of Games with only $50, So it is down to each individual player what he feels Comfortable buying in with, as opposed to how much he has in his Account.
Personally I have over $600 in my Account and I still buy-in for $1, Because I don't play Poker to win Money, I play purely for the thrill of the chase, and the Fun of it, If I am not having Fun and enjoying the Game I will Log off, and find something better to do.
Some might say I am wasting my time because I could buy-in for more and win more, But I say "It's my time to waste, and if I went to the Cinema or a Football game, it would cost me a damned sight more and I wouldn't get more money for sitting there" To me watching 22 men kicking a ball around for 90 minutes is a bigger Waste of Time.

100bbs its a great bankroll
the bbs will scale while you play higher or lower buy ins but more than that can be profit easily if you dont intend to move up in stakes
Go for the gold
God bless

I play tournaments no more expensive than $2.2. A bankroll of $300 is enough for me.

Hello! 100 buy-ins for tournaments, or 100 entries to the cash limit! Good luck at the tables!

Play freerolls! If you can’t win one or two a month you have no business playing with your hard earned money!

I think it should be at least 100x the buy in of tournament/cash game, but I like to play with even a bigger bankroll to play more comfortable.

It makes no difference at all how much money is in your actual poker account. BR mgt is not about what is in your poker account individually.....its about your actual BR. If you are a winning player who has just taken out 10k, and left only $100 does this mean you're back to $1 MTTs, of course not, thats ridiculous.....all it means is that if you have a downswing right about now you will need to deposit again.

Another example is if you have $10 in one account but $1000 in another, are you Bankrolled differently for each site??? No, you can play whatever you are comfortable playing on either site, as you can easily top up one account from the other.

The only reason it matters, is if you personally feel the need to have the money there rather than sitting in your real life bank account. This should not make any difference, but I understand how it can affect your game if you feel like you are losing a bigger percentage of what you have left.

I see people getting confused with this all the time. Your BR is how much total money you have to play poker with, not what is in Pokerstars or GG seperately.

This depends on what amount you are going to play, the bankroll of 100 times your buy in is a good way for you to think about which bankroll is comfortable for you to play
