I enjoy playing poker online , but over the years have heard and seen some strange outcomes happening, so now i stick to small stakes games, only have to deal with bots.

I trust online poker about as much as I trust Rosie O'Donnell is going to become a Victoria Secrets Model.

I trust the sites do their best to run legit cash games and tournaments. With suspect terms of service most of the time.
With that said, no doubt there are players trying to cheat the system one way or another, most of the time on all the poker sites.

The truth is, I am not so confident and that variance seems very consoling to me, there are many bookmakers that are sad and on the internet 90% reward the one with the most chips and it is just a matter of observing since I saw it in a comment later I started to look and it is like that, if you go all in and one of the largest number of chips accepts you, you will surely have a 90% loss!

No Bologna

No. To many Aces and KK cracked. It's freerolls and small stakes for me.

I absolutely trusted the poker sites until I read thread. I've seen lots of weird bad beats to others as well as myself on the freeroll games. Surely the freerolls are legit?

:goodnight

There are some tables that have a lucky seat that cannot lose. In tournament or cash games. You have to identify this and slow play until cards come your way.

sometimes you can trust him .. but when you achieve some success. then because you start to notice that you are already less lucky .. sometimes the alignment seems to be in your favor .. but you lose everything completely .. this happens .. unfortunately in poker, which ultimately causes questions .. but who knows the card is such a thing ... No wonder they say that gambling is a disease ... so it's everyone's business to play or not ... many players are unhappy ... but sometimes you watch online poker there, too, sometimes this happens ... in a word, the wheel of fortune

yes i do trust it. my reasoning is that they are making too much money to risk losing it all to be found to be a bad site. pokerstars for example, has what 120k players usually playing. That site must be making a fortune off rake and buyins. They have to be spending billions to protect that investment. Could you imagine if they were found to be cheating and everyone stopped playing. Too much money to loose.

I feel safe playing on-line poker when I play with a trusted and reputable site,
Like Pokerstars they do have too much to lose to be dishonest, It is not the site I worry about it is the computer I use and the Internet provider I don't trust. I have on occasion lost a game simply because the Internet went down, or my computer decides to throw a fit and crashes.
But as far as hands playing out differently to what I expect, this will always happen, on-line and in live games, it just seems to happen on-line more often because you play more hands than in a live game, you do not have to wait for the dealer to shuffle and you are all given the same time bank so once that has gone you do not have that long to make a decision.
I can play a tourney on-line with over a thousand players in a couple of hours, the blinds go up every 10 mins or 5 mins if a turbo, and you get to the bubble usually within 2 to 3 hours.
Live games the blinds might not go up for 30 mins or even an hour in some games I have tried, and the bubble will not be seen for 2 or 3 days!
So to be honest I can play a hell of a lot more games and more hands on-line than I could playing live events.

Only P(J)okerStars is in doubt. Strange things are happening there. I trust the rest in general.

I remember, 10 years ago when i started to play, mostly i played on PS, now that is the only site what I 100% do not trust, I knew plenty professional players, whose left it, as mathematically was almost impossible what was going on for weeks, months...

I had similar sessions few times on ACR, too. even i do not think, the 1 from a million sessions, options should happen 1-2 times/month... the craziest one was losing 5 hands, in 4 different table within 2 minutes with full or flush on the river, when only 1 or 2 out had for my opponents... and that was 2 minutes, only... do not talk about the similar events through a 10-12 hours session... i understand the variance and probability, but there are numbers, so not so difficult to count what are the chances for sessions like these in every month 1,2 times - it would be okay if the rest 20-25 sessions are totally without it, but of course it never stands like that - full with 'bad beats'... that was the time, when I had to stand up and leave the poker for a while...

Trust should be a 4 letter word...

I think it is safer to be paranoid and question odd plays and players that you see. Keep proper notes especially when you see puzzling plays. Look opponents up at sharkscope.com. Follow a heuristic approach to the game and adhere to it like your own personal poker Bible. If you do these things you can make the following statement true for you... "Rigged games are the easiest ones to beat"

This post seems like a thinly-veiled assertion that online poker is rigged. I'm personally on about a 15 buy-in downswing because of a mixture of poor play and bad luck. Get all the money in with AA vs 44, villain catches a 4 on the flop. Still a good spot to get all the money in. Same with your 2 pair example. A great spot to get all the money in. My dumbass shoves all-in preflop with TT after being 3bet by a nit, snap-called by KK. No set, no straight, no flush, no variance to save me. My fault for making a bad play. Villain was in a good spot to get all the money in, and their hand held. I get frustrated, make a call from the BB after the BTN PFRs with 3x BB with A6o. Flop is 8dAc4h. Check raise the BTN with a top pair with a shit-kicker. Re-raised all-in. Snap call without taking any time to consider my actions, nor villain's. Villain shows A8o. I was beat preflop, and I overvalued an Ax hand. More bad play. Is that the website's fault, or mine?

Definitely ! Ask any programmer that has ever worked at a high level for any of these sites. The certified RNG means very little ! The bigger problem is the data software used by players and even undetectable bots. Sure you still can wins lot's of money online but you are assuming unknown risks in every session.
