Is it possible?

Hi,

I sometimes feel that online poker like a robot works. Based on the success with my nickname, the program decides if I win the next tournaments or not.

I recently won a tournament and since then I lose with each hand. No matter how strong.

Is that imagination?

Trust in online poker

The truth is there are times when I doubt online poker because even when one waits or is suddenly winning on the river everything is turned around, the truth is surprising but that gives its magnificent touch to each table that you can improve and avoid those hands even if they were the best and the highest but it is what makes sense to play poker.

I know things happen that are shady. I just like poker so much, I’m willing to take the risk.

On my darkest day in poker, I really thought someone had a doom switch watching me play and bringing every 2 outer to stack me. This was in 06 when I made a meager $1500 playing cash games. I then got some more coaching and was told from pros that this happens to everyone. Good things I stuck with it, cuz over the next 2 years I made over 30k.

The take away from this, is that everyone goes on bad runs. The trick is to not let your mind wander into conspiracy theories and use those as excuses. Or worse, it causes you to play bad and you compound the problem. Watch the pros like Lex. After a bad beat, sure he’s upset, but his strategy never changes. He plays consistent. Over time, he wins. Even with the bad beats.

I think you are right!
There are some situations you make the right decision but lose by bad luck.
But you will win if you hold on your strategy and go on making right decisions.
It is because you have the nuts and your oppenent needs the luck.
Sometimes he will get it, but most times he will lose.

I trust online poker but it's really sketchy... If someone plays really bad but he's running good he will get there no matter what... Like two days ago I lost to guy on hyper who won with 2 outer, 3 outer almost 3 times in a row. Really tilting and lucky

How can you trust online poker while also observing that it is sketchy? BTW I see the same things.. players running abnormally hot with ATC and the site just rewards them for it or saves them by creating split pots when they get it in and are dominated. How can you trust it when this happens over and over? It isn't the same players running hot, but it always looks the same for whatever player(s) are chosen in any given game.

I dont believe in it being rigged, I do believe that sites like ACR could do better eliminating multi entry cheaters and bots.

Since the new ACR rollout I've seen more bad beats in the last few days than I've seen in the last 2 months. People hitting two or three turn or river outers is pretty common now.

Poker can really be a fair and transparent game if you play in poker rooms that have a good reputation. In such institutions, your bankroll will not evaporate, and the software will not play against you.
The poker rooms themselves are fighting with bots in all possible ways, and if they are, the administration instantly blocks accounts and puts a ban on players identified as a result of the investigation.

Recently saw a video where a guy was showing in the pokerstars bots, they usually play on small stakes. There are very simple robots that act is always the same, but there are those that adjust to each player (look at his stats 3bet, etc), but with such as you sit at the table, so 95% of that in the long run lose it:(

i still am pretty undecided on this. really. it makes sense to keep it clean since if people think online poker is rigged its just bad for their business. on the other hand, we will never know if we are not insider parties what motivations these sites have to rig the game and make newbies learn bad/addictive habits..

i am also unsure if they just make the appearance of disallowing bots strictly. im sure some will get away... what is the operators incentive to disallow bots? IMHO.

I think the doubts about online poker concern the bots that may exist and affect the game as well as an uncertainty about the funds you have in each company.

i just went thru this prob all weekend
yesterday 3 hands in a row i had awsome cards got a great hand
and poof i get beat in the last week
you cant win against bots - im glad pokerstars took out a whole bunch of bots in april and may but no matter what botts still comeback so we cant win either way.

i like the idea sites are now starting to ask for DL's
have to prove your human and not a bott.

To be honest i don't trust online poker for shit. It's not regulated. I would recommend watching this video of a guy called Magic612 he has hes own channel where he has a ton of videos where the most unlikely things happens. i watch them just because he rages a shit ton :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNkVS0Mn2XE&
WOW thanks for the video, everything is very crazy and it convinces me more and more that nothing in online poker is really random, I sometimes think that the software shows you how it should be handled, if you do things well you win, but you lose ....

ah you finally figured it out. Do you really think those country bumpkins that are winning are more intelligent than you ? can they grasp poker strategy and clicking buttons better than you ?

Maybe you are more intelligent than them. Ever think of that :)

they need the rig because they are all idiots.

I am in the realm of thought that I trust the online poker site because the site makes money equally by each individual playing. 1000 entrants in an MTT all pay the same entry fee, therefore there’s no incentive to favor anyone. Losing the trust of the public would be catastrophic to success. It’s in the best interest of the pokersite to run the website as cleanly and fairly as possible. Cheating websites do not prosper. On the other hand, I am not naive to think that other others players are not cheating or running bots. I’m well aware that players share hand information or team up. I trust and hope that the site monitors trends of cash games and those who play together often, as well as money transfers and if those players sit at tables together and play an obv strategy together. As a MTT player for the most part, I try to worry less about opponents sitting together sharing cards etc as it’s harder to sit together but I’m always curious and cautious. In today’s computer age there’s no telling what some genius programmer has cooked up to gain an edge. I’m never going to know for sure but I gotta trust online poker for the most part if I’m gonna play.

Of course I believe. There are big poker rooms and betting sites that are legal and checked, so I do not worry about it. Never before have I encountered any mistakes on any online poker site and betting site.

Cheating sites? Highly unlikely. Cheating players? Always. In any game, you will find people who cheat. The better sites have software to combat this. If their site has a reputation of having players who cheat, less people will play there and they won’t make as much money.

Now don't take this the wrong way but I'm a distrusting guy but the underworld has always been involved in gambling and there all offshore so it seems right for money laundering.I just think there are likely ways to set it up. Just think Brunno signs up and no matter what he does he just wins, no sir officer I'm not a crook I won all this money online just seems to simple.A lot of smart people out there who are always 5 steps in front and it's usually the underworld

I'm thinking about online poker, I'm not going in a round where I'm 2/3 in hand, here comes the card and it appears 3-3-2 and you wonder why I did not play this part? enters for you AA, you bet and think that you will win, your opponent goes with 7/8 and fafaz 2 pairs and wins from you. and so, should I rely on poke online.
It is not question about trust. It's a game, and at river can be open anything. So think about rival's hand and chanses to win.

at the moment I distrust the security of online poker I do not play anymore, I think they earn enough rake money that they do not need to cheat, now in the case the robots are detected more but are less
