I have only played once live, which is why my first trip to wsop I would only play some smaller games. I would take it all in and get a feel for the environment.
If the entries were good for a couple years I would then go back the next time and toss my hat into a freezeout <3

If I have to play it all this year <3 I would play a lot of smaller ones then play a big one closer to the end of the event

I would probably go with multiple smaller games that I prefer so some Plo8 events, maybe a Stud8 or Badugi or def HORSE!
I think the only larger game that would tempt me to put it all on one game would be the 10K HORSE but seems smarter
and more fun to pick multiple events, the only NLHE game that looks interesting is the 1K Tag team event so
I could bring a friend who's a beast at NLHE and fun to hang out with👍

I've already got mine listed for this year so this will be easy & are grouped within 10days.
Personally I'm choosing to play $5k worth of WSOP events and $2k to other smaller buyin tournaments but for the sake of this thread I can adjust this quite easily.

Sun. June 16 WSOP #38-C MONSTER STACK $1,500
Tues.June 18 WSOP #46-A Senior flight A $1,000
Sat. June 22 WSOP #53 Millionaire Maker $1,500
Mon. June 24 WSOP #59 Super Senior $1,000
Wed. June 26 WSOP #65 Senior High Roller $5,000
$10,000usd

I think that if I had the opportunity to have 10k I would spend it and put everything on a single ticket for the Main Event, it is a unique one that every player will want to play.

I think I would start with the Event 5 - Mystery Millions event. Seems like a good game to play slow and tight, making moves when you have the hands. no bluffing and wait as only those who get ITM, get a chance of bounties with the top bounty is $1M US. So this event has 5 * entries to play. which is a good chance as although you might die on your feet, surely, I would think, that out of those 5 different chances, then hey ho you will get a shot, as long as you stick to a reasonable starting hands.

From there a series of freezeout games, with good strategy, and enjoy the games. (No point of you don't enjoy it and have fun).

So finally, if you manage to FT any of the games you play, in reasonable buy-ins, then a FT will mean you can win enough, if you just think, hey next time I might not be hear, and then you can go for a big tourney, of $10K or more.

Thats what I would do, lets hope my current trip here, paves the way for something like that......................

I would rather put that amount of money on fire than use it on some LIVE poker thingy  ...
The results would be probably the same. So yeah that actually would be a good decision and u would definitely save some valuable time.

I would probably be conservative and just play tournaments with a buy-in of no more than $200.

Event 4 $1500 omaha hi-lo
Event 11 $1500 badugi
Event 20 $300 gladiators
Event 35 $1500 horse
Event 63 $1500 single draw
Event 70 $400 colossus
Event 78 $1000 mini main event
Event 80 $800 independence day
Event 83 $1500 8 game mixed

I would rather play in more smaller events rather than just the main event to give me more of a chance to make a deep run in a event and maybe even make a FT. I also like mixed games more than NL holdem plus playing a bunch of smaller events would allow me to play a lot more poker and probably enjoy my time there much more than just playing the main event.

Although ME sound tempting I would go with several smaller tournaments just because I would like to play variants live. My schedule would be something like that:

June 02-05, 2024 Event #11: $1,500 Badugi Buy-in: $1,500
June 14-17, 2024 Event #40: $1,500 Razz Buy-in: $1,500
June 21-24, 2024 Event #56: $2,500 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball (Limit) (2-7, A-5, Badugi) Buy-in: $2,500
July 07-10, 2024 Event #83: $1,500 Eight Game Mixed (6-Handed) Buy-in: $1,500
July 11-14, 2024 Event #91: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. (8-Handed) Buy-in: $3,000

As tempted as I would be to just put it all on the big one, my accountant brain would stop me. Divide it up into smaller games, a ladies game, and some senior ones. Maybe the field wont be so big and hopefully pull out a couple final table wins and then go blow it on the slots. Bahahaha!!!

Multiple lower buy-in events, definitely.
Event #3: $500 - Kickoff NLH Freezeout
Event #5: $1K - Mystery Millions
Event #17: $800 - NLE Deepstack
Event #20: $300 - Gladiators of Poker
Event #28: $1.5K - NLE Freezeout
Event #38: $1.5K - Monster Stack
Event #54: $1.5K - Millionaire Maker
Event #67: $500 - Salute to Warriors
Event #70: $400 - Colossus
Event #78: $1K - Mini Main Freezeout

With a few bucks leftover for a rebuy or two. Would probably see how those games go to change up my schedule.

OR ---

If I were to come in at the tail end of the series, I would probably do something more like this:

Event #70: $400 x3 bullets (1 for each day) - Colossus
Event #78: $1K - Mini Main Freezeout
Event $82: $1K - NLE
Event #84: $600 x2 bullets (1 for each day) - Ultra Stack
Event #93: $777 x2 bullets - Lucky 7's
Event #98: $1.5K x2 bullets - The Closer

I think I have a little leftover, and might switch out a Closer bullet and the Event 82 for sattys into the Main Event.

I've already got mine listed for this year so this will be easy & are grouped within 10days.

The temptation to play the main event is big, but I would try to resist it and go for a full month of play to enjoy WSOP at maximum, so thinking about 2024 WSOP schedule, I would go like this:
  • Event #3: $500 WSOP Kickoff No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout
  • Event #5: $1,000 Mystery Millions No-Limit Hold'em - Flight D
  • Event #22: $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw (6-Handed)
  • Event #35: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E.
  • Event #54: $1,500 MILLIONAIRE MAKER No-Limit Hold'em - Flight A
  • Event #63: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw (7-Handed)
  • Event #78: $1,000 MINI Main Event
  • Event #83: $1,500 Eight Game Mix (6-Handed)
Of course, I decided this in 10 minutes, but I believe that I would go for those 8 tournaments.

It would be a dream to participate in the main event, but it would be more logical to participate in more smaller tournaments to see if I can get some bigger prizes, but out of the $10k I would definitely take some local ME satos live for around $1k or $2k if there is any at the event, because I don't know exactly.

Well to start off I think that pulling the trigger and putting it all on a buy in for the main event is not for me.
I would stand a snowballs chance in hell of winning, much less cashing in any Hold 'em event.
I prefer the low based and stud games and would have a better chance of doing well in them.
It's like the deer that will walk across a corn field (Hold'em) to get to a bean field ( Stud and Low Games).

$1,500 Badugi
$1,500 Pot Limit Omaha H/L
$1,500 Seven Card Stud
$ 1,500 Razz
$ 1,500 Stud H/L
$2,500 Mixed Omaha H/L, Stud H/L

If I could only play only one game, it would be Seven Card Stud at the highest buy in that I could afford.

I would try more games with lower buyins. Betting everything on one game with my experience at high stakes would be a losing strategy, so it's better to play more games and have a better chance of winning prizes.

If I we ever to be this lucky, as tempting as it would be to just play the main, I need to reduce my variance as much as possible so I would play:
E3 $500 Kickoff
E5 $1k Mystery Millions
E12 $1500 NLHE
E14 $1k Super Turbo Bounty
E17 $800 NLHE DS
E20 $300 Gladiators of Poker NLHE
E28 $1500 NLHE
E36 $800 NLHE DS
E38 $1500 MONSTER STACK
E64 $600 NLHE DS
E70 $400 COLOSSUS

With the $100 left over I'd probably go gamble it away by staking a friend.

I would play the main event and sell 20% of myself to 100 different people, which would give me $200000 :sneaky:

honestly I would share, I'm a very average micros player and a single tournament with that buy-in value would affect me a lot, if I had it from the first day, I would enter the cheaper ones to get used to it and try to feel as comfortable as possible. .
and I would reserve an amount of 4 or 5,000 so that I could try to win a big prize.
