I would stand up from the table and go do something else to entertain myself.
It will not be long until Buddy is busted and on the rail and I can have a quiet ride home while he sleeps.
I would not put myself in that situation again with Buddy.
That experience was two times in one: First and Last.

If I had decided to leave, I would have tried to persuade him again, if he refused, I would have sat in the bar for 20 minutes. And then I would have presented him with a fait accompli: either we go together or I go alone and he gets home as he wants.

In poker between friends, it is unacceptable to be sad or argue between them.

I'd make it clearer, he can come with me now or I'd leave him back. Also, I'd explain what he did wasn't fair.

A game is a game, but friendship is friendship, friendship is very important in the life of every person, since money itself does not decide in many moments in life that we have to face. Many people consider themselves experts in human relations, sometimes mistaking flattery for the truth, sympathy for pretense, and an offer of help for personal gain.I will give my friend money, not just a loan, but simply everything I have in my pockets. But my friend will never take everything, because he knows that I have to feed my family and will always give it back.

I would just go and leave my friend where he wants to be. You shouldn't interfere with anyone, even a friend, if they want to do something stupid. It's his life and his experience. All I can do for my friend is give him advice, but I have no right to interfere in his life, even though we are friends.

Interesting one and a tough spot! I'd try to have a quick chat with my friend first, maybe step away from the table for a minute. I'd tell him his shoving is killing the fun for me and probably not helping his game either.

If that doesn’t work and he's still being stubborn, I’d:

Tell the staff he’s had too much to drink. They might step in.
Call a mutual friend to talk to him.
Take a break myself and wait it out. He might cool off or bust out soon.

If he's totally out of control, I'd let him know I’m leaving and he needs to come or find another way home. Sometimes you gotta look out for yourself too. Good luck!

If they were a friend of mine, I would probably take my chips to the cage and cash out and then probably play some let it ride, blackjack or some other casino game.

You take a good friend with you to a casino. The casino is about a - hour drive from home and you are your friend's only ride. You end up being seated at the same $2-$5 cash table.

About two hours into the game, you have almost doubled your stack! You friend isn't doing nearly as well. He is on his 3rd buy-in and drunk. To make matters worse, the competitiveness he has always had is kicking in and every time you (and it seems to be only you) have a hand and raise, he shoves. Considering the situation, you end up folding three or four times, and your game starts to be affected. This isn't fun anymore.

You decide it's time to leave, but your friend absolutely refuses. What would you do in this situation?

You should have a plan before you step into the car of how long you're going to stay and agree to it. The driver should know if there is another way for the other person to get back safely and make sure they have the means to get out of there.

You just don't abandon them lol especially if they're the type that likes to drink like that. Next thing you know they're stumbling out of the casino looking for a way home lol and they might not be in the nicest neighborhood, lol.

If the driver doesn't want to play when they get there or things aren't right for them and they agreed to hang around then its time find a another table or go down in stakes or to go explore the casino or another nearby casino or go eat or leave the casino and find something to do like a movie, lol, whatever while your buddy grinds and have your buddy call you or you come back and check on them later.

That's what video poker and restaurants at the casino are for, lol.

If you haven't played limit poker like stud or holdem or tried PL Omaha then go to the lowest tables and try to grind those if your casino has that as well or bring a poker book or something and leave it in the car and wait and relax.

If the games weren't to my liking in NLH then I would grind the limit games or bail if by myself.

But if you're at a casino that has something like 10 tables or something lol and there's nothing around the casino then you're probably going to wait in the car lolol.

But you don't bail on them unless you know they're ok and agree to getting back some other way and I would actually ask them how they're getting back so its not a spur of the moment bad decision but they have a clue what they're doing.

But you hang in there lol that's what friends do. You got your fix but your buddy hasn't.

We're going to eat at the end regardless my treat because I usually invited them and they can tell me how they got unlucky (lol yeah, lol) and review hands, the session or talk about some silly stuff that happened while playing and we can make fun of one another and enjoy the ride back on full stomachs and just laugh about the whole episode later anyway.

I would give him a bit more time to play but I'd tell him I'm leaving at a certain time and that he can come with me or stay. Also if he keeps shoving on my raises I'm likely to call him.

I would say: I’m leaving in one hour! With or without you! I have no patients with a drunk!

Talking about the game I had in my hands. This spoils a good round of play between friends, as it makes the person upset with so many comments.

I would try to convince him to go to sleep, but if he starts making a fuss, I prefer to leave it there, he is an adult and it is his money, and he has to learn a lesson.

For me i would sit out maybe go play at another table or even play some slots till he had enough of losing then we could go home NP.
I would never just leave him without a ride home because we are friends after all.

If I were not having fun anymore I would leave the table, but I would suggest going home. I would be vocal, and try and joke about how much money they are giving me :p

You used the term friend in this question so I would know that there would be open communication beforehand about being at the same table and there would be 0 "negative emotions" about one person winning even if the other is losing. I would also assume we had a plan if someone got a little more drunk than the other. Like a safety word, when it is time to leave.

In closing lol "BANNNAAANNNAAA HAMMOCK" would be heard throughout the casino...we would get our coats and leave. (assuming coats too :p canada can get chilly)

The looks you'd get running through a casino in Februry yelling that would be priceless - to say the least!

Since he is drunk, I can give him the freedom to make his decisions because in any case I cannot have control over him. Worst case scenario he will lose a few buy-ins.

Poker between friends is great ! One day I took a friend to the casino . And he helped me a lot .

I was very drunk... and there were a lot of chips. My friend exchanged my chips and took me out of the casino.I think this is a real friendly gesture . I thanked him well for this action.Otherwise I would have lost everything .Although I resisted I didn't want to leave

If I go to a casino with my friends, I usually spend money the fastest. And when I run out of money, my friends become my donors, so I would probably hardly find myself in such a situation. But even if I did, I would try to do everything to ensure that my friend either lost as little money as possible, or I would help him spend it myself :)
