Thank you for information. What do you mean: "But perhaps the most effective way – learning from the coach". You mean some kind of software?

While plenty of people use HUDS and software, i think that he was referring to an actual guru who can mentor you. This is, however, probably not without its costs.

Great post. Gave me a lot to think about. Havent played poker in years and just started up again. Propably wont have tons of time to put in poker but am going to have fun with it.
Anyways, I am waiting for the 88 poker bonus to clear so I can hit the micro tables. Any suggestions, what micros give the best money over time?

I like it, really that one has to continue playing where you are most comfortable. It's good to these tips. You have to take care of the bankroll and not go crazy. It is better to go from little to little and not throw it at high levels.

For really low BR it's very important rely on good freerolls, especially those 1-time-week, they can offer really good experience and some cash.

It's kind of a consense that tournaments in general it's the way to build-up the bank roll. Cash games early on it's way too dangerous.

I'm huge on bankroll management. If you're a profitable player and you use the right BM, you'll make money in the long run.

my major mistake is playing when I get board i tend to get out of my comfort zone on buy in amounts... instead of going by the rule of never putting more then 20 percent of your bankroll on a table i get board and over invest into a particular table doesn't end well...

I have a very similar problem it's almost like my daily attitude outside of poker life is most important thing of all at this point . I know what strategy I want to use for a given game or situation but if I get bored or antsy everything goes out the window regardless of stakes. Anyone else at this point where they already know better to start a session out of boredom is a huuuge killer for me these days

MMT freerolls to start. Once you get to your desired goal, you can mix the freerolls up with some paid tournaments.

I hope at least some people who can benefit from advice like this will pay attention because there's lots of good stuff consolidated here, more than they're likely to find most of the time.

One thing I'll add is to consider your win rate. As an artificial example, if you're playing NL5 and grind your roll up to $500, applying the conservative 50 buyin guideline indicates you're sufficiently funded to move up to NL10. You are, but if you got there by winning an average of 10 cents an hour, your game probably isn't ready.

Good job OZ

I think that you are right. I started playing poker by freerolls. Certainly, the prize of the tourneys isn`t big, but it may help you to start your bankroll. In my case, I received a small prize and I apply it getting knowledge. How? Using the money of the prize to play. Indeed, I also recomend that you find your poker style and focus in that. In my case works with tournament.

Yes you have pretty much said it all. You do need to get lucky and I have made the mistake of taking a win straight to the cash games and losing
