Do you wear the same lucky socks, or boxers? Do you put your left sock on last or first?

Any strange superstitions you follow?

For example @mattiebumpo 's is a silver dollar coin that her dad gave to her. She says she feels more confident when she uses it as her card protector and loves the weight and feel of it in her hand. It also has the word "PEACE" on the back with a depiction of a majestic eagle holding olive branches. It reminds her to stay calm and patient. The Lady Liberty on the front is lovely, too, and reminds mattiebumpo that she is a strong woman.

I used to have happy headphones that I have to put them on my head, which is not very convenient for me. Before playing, I changed my usual headphones to happy ones and immersed myself in the world of poker dreams:D. One day, a dog decided to taste the soft pads. :ROFLMAO:

When all-in in NLH I call out the cards that my opponents need instead of what I need.

It feels less bad when I lose since at least I kind of expected it by "rooting" for my opponent:unsure:

And it feels like it has worked better than the opposite (with no statistical proof whatsoever)

When playing live I always wear my lucky color: black. It is also the only color in my wardrobe so I have no other option.

Little off topic but I always wondered why a state which claims to be secular, puts
"In God We Trust" on their money 🤣

Nice lucky token though .

I have a 1€ chip from my local cardroom where I used to play for live events as lucky token/ Card protector.
Loved going there and was a regular at cashgames. But politics ruined the livepokerscene and every pokerroom had to shut down.
So this chip is a nice memorandum to some fun years.
Now it rests on my soundbar below my PC monitor for good luck 😁

I don't have a Lucky charm as such, but being in a few Large Tournaments in a Casino environment, I have over the years bought and Won card markers for when I play, sometimes I buy them as I forgot to take one along, But I always use them. I feel it is advantageous to look at my cards once then cover with a guard until it is my turn to act, and never touch them again until I fold or showdown on the River.
It's not hard to remember 2 cards in the hole, and players who are constantly looking at the same two cards show signs of insecurity, and also could show the cards inadvertently to other players, while they check their hand.
My philosophy is they are not going to change and if you keep looking at them they won't disappear, So why give your opponents extra information by constantly checking what you hold? It is usually a sign of weakness.
On some occasions I have played my hand blind and dropped the guard onto my hand without looking at them, simply to baffle my opponents and many who have noticed this move have had to ask if I had looked at my hand, when I answer no, they usually follow the flop with a continuation bet, which is customary, and depending on the size I will continue to play and call their bet, When the Turn comes I will continue to give them the lead and only check my cards on the turn bet coming from them.
I then have two choices either to fold, any rubbish or bluff at them with a raise. But the beauty comes when they suspect I am bluffing and re-raise me while I am holding the "Nuts" and sometimes I do have the best hand.
I will admit I only do this when I have a significant lead over my opponent, as I believe in playing the Player, and not the 2 cards I have in the hole.

2 things:

-When im running good i dont withdraw and dont send money to other player because i dont want to activate that famous cashout doomswitch.

-I normally deposit a small amount before playing any real money game(s). To activate that depositor rungood boost.

In my very early playing days, I did try to keep a card protector & then later a bracelet for lucky charms but they never seemed to work. Then I had a superstition that a good rest & mind clear of distractions before a game would bring luck. That one seemed to work! :)

The truth is that I have never had any ritual nor am I superstitious about poker or anything in life, but I respect those who believe that certain things give them better luck.

Well, this time I got nothing to show for except that a girl friend of mine (2007) had given me a nice pyramid shaped crystal that I instantly thought about using as a card protector as I played more live than online at the time. After a while, I discovered that, crystal or not, no substantial changes came along, so I went back to using any of my chips as I did before.
I might be wrong, but I don't think I have any superstitions about anything.
I also like to mention that Kathleen's Silver Dollar would be a nice card protector, superstition or not.

Many people believe that certain things or actions can bring them luck at the table and protect them from bad cards. It can be a hat, a sweatshirt, a shirt or even lucky underwear. It is often worn at important tournaments and especially at final tables. For me personally, it's a banknote.

Yes, I had 3 chips from my first poker tournament. They brought me luck in online poker when I was moving these chips in my hand. But I lost them somewhere, and unfortunately I've been playing for a long time without them. And yes, I am superstitious and believe in the power of the numbers "4" and "8" and their combinations in other numbers. :)

Thanks, @Marcwantstowin for using my suggestion! I still love my silver dollar as a card protector but I don't always use it. Once when I was playing poker someone offered to buy it from me for $40, but I wouldn't sell.

The more I play poker, the more I realize the mental aspect is at least as important and understanding the game fundamentals. I have some socks that I like to wear that depict a kitty cat flipping the bird with two paws! I am not sure if they are lucky but they give me a fun and rebellious attitude when I play. I also like it when my table and seat number correspond but it doesn't always result in good luck. For example, Table 444, Seat 4. The main thing for me is to remember why I enjoy playing poker and to appreciate that I have the opportunity to play a game I love.

I have only one important superstition :)
I never play poker drunk or hungover. When I played drunk, I always lost money, literally always, every time. One day, I realised that alcohol and losing money are interrelated, at least in my case. Since then, I have developed a rule, or superstition, that playing drunk is the same as simply agreeing to lose money voluntarily.

I am not a superstitious person at all.... so I don't have any lucky charms but I do have 3 black cats,
which is either good luck or bad luck depending on your country of origin,
only poker rule I have is don't even bother playing if I'm tired👍

Any strange superstitions you follow?
I have these two card protectors that I received as a gift from Cardschat, fixed to my computer, so when I'm playing I look at them and I remember the good laughs I've had here on the forum.

But I don't use them as good luck charms, but rather as a good reminder of the best poker forum in the Universe.😉👍

When I was racing cars it was considered bad luck to eat peanuts at the race track. I have carried that over to poker and I will not eat peanuts while playing poker.

I am not a superstitious person and don't have any superstitions although I like sitting in seat 2 when playing live and also have a certain playlist that I listen to when playing cash games and a different one when playing tournaments but I don't consider those superstitions, just preferences.

I don't really have any superstitions. I just try to play with focus and think carefully about all my decisions. That's the only ritual I always follow. Although, apart from that, I have a favourite beer glass, and it seems to me that if I drink beer from it while playing, my brain works better :)

1 . If there is a good tournament coming up today, my left hand starts to itch. This is a good sign for money.
2 .Secondly I put on my favorite shirt and snap the button inside .
3 .

And the third most important thing. When I play poker, I play and cross my legs. .Crossing your legs and fingers

This way I scare away the devil and his traps... This may be hard for you to believe, but sometimes it helps me.
