What tourneys are you playing again Zach?

How often do you have to cash in them to make them worth more than just getting bonuses or whatever?

Depends what rate you get the bonus. Basically 5400 fpps to enter, winner gets a ticket to the million which can be sold for $214.

214 * percentage to cash / 5400

would be dollars/fpp. At the best cash bonus it's 1.6c/fpp (I think concierge's around there too).

.016 = 214p/5400
86.4 = 214p
p = .4037

If you are of average skill you will cash in 40%. Trust me you're better than the average player in those. Thus to make it worth your while your edge only needs to bump it to 40.37% and if you get the lower bonuses (anything but the 4k cash bonus) you're getting a worse deal than 1.6c/fpp.

More reasonable I'd say is 45% cash rate which gives:

.45*214/5400 = .0178 = 1.78c/fpp which is much better than any cash bonus. Just gotta put up with the variance, kinda sucks when you're going through a downswing and on top of it lose like 4-5 straight 5400's. But they're offset by the times you cash in 4-5 in a row :).

More importantly, why oh why are you loosing money with AK ???????

Seriously, either your sample is tiny or there's a real leak there. AK is supposed to be a major money maker.

Sharkscope considers those as $0 buy-in but $215 cash-out when you win a ticket, right? Free moneyzzzz ... :D

Hence the graph that starts to go straight up :). Played a few actual sngs, and even won $216 last night in a $4.40 180-man sng (plus $5 from KC for lasting longer, but ss doesn't show that :p), but in general I play about a 5400 a day or so and rarely play sngs.

nah i like it. stacks make it very awkward - calling is horrible, reraising for near enough half our stack is horrible, shoving seems excessive and we will only be called when crushed in most cases (which will be quite often if btn is nitty). with a nitty guy to our left and healthy stacks we can just happily keep raising our button and sb without needing to get involved here.

i very rarely resteal in $6Ts because people will call 3-bets surprisingly often. seriously it's like a circuit in the brain of many otherwise decent SNG players just shuts down when they get 3-bet. example (not the best example but it's the first one from today i found).

brag: last night/early morning full tilt made a mistake with one of their full tilt point satellites. it was a 600 point 6-man sng to get into a 3500 point satty, but by some bug, it ended up giving out 2 seats instead of ones (and 100 points for 3rd). meaning the prizepool was 7,100 points, even though the total amount contributed by the players was 3,600 points. each time you won a seat, you could just unregister and take the points. i grinded the hell out of these until full tilt realized the error and fixed them this morning... made 70k points, weeeee

You gotta keep in mind that you can clear bonus while playing other games. So while it may give you more return on your points to play satty's, you are spending time playing satty's when you could be playing like 24 tables of full ring.
