you can't win any MTT without winning at least a dozen flips, if there is not luck involved in this you can call me whaterver u want...

Best example! I think both are equally important and to succeed you need them both!

If fact, if you play a lot, i will consider skill really more important, the "lucky factor" would tend more to the odds, but if you are a recreational player the luck counts a lot for a good profit.

I would say 75% skill and 25% luck.
The thing is to try to minimize the need of luck in the game.
I used to all-in alot with AJ/AQ/AK and then complain when I lost the coinflip, now I realised that going all-in with those hands isn't that smart. Def. with AJ, you just lose too much

in tournament poker in one separate tournament good luck is important. especially when large number of players, turbo format. ability is important too, but it can be checked at a big distance.

Yes, as it's all connected.
But the ability is still more important...

Ability to calculate your luck in advance, and is important in poker. This requires skill.

Well i think that skill is more important. Sometimes luck is key factor, but i think that players who have more skill are more lucky.
Cheers!

A lot of the components of success in poker. But in the long run, of course the experience is more important than ability, as the theory of probability has not been canceled. The deck is the same for all the players, and if now is not the card, then tomorrow or the next day (or 3-4 -...- 99 days things will change). Another very important patience.

Luck will always play a role, but in the long run skill is what will make you a winning player.

obv skill is more important. in the short term sure anyone can get lucky and win. but over a large sample of hands skill will always prevail.

Poker is definately a game of skill, but seriously there is a very very very high element of Luck involved. Sometimes we wonder why are we even playing:D:D:D

The main thing to know the essence of the superiority of the game, and the ability to calculate the enemy!

Of course luck in poker is very important. But success requires skill. With luck you can get hit a few times. But to be a successful player in the long run you need skill.

I think they both help the player of course,,but i think if you are an above average to elite player you have to have both aspects to your game.I`ve always been a lucky person but have worked hard at certain skills to be able to succeed:cool:
