Also, it actually helps to stay behind for a little bit in the first couple of laps. Keep with everyone, but juuust hang back.
Get a red shell at the last lap.
Make everyone else go step on ants.
Win win win

I thought about this, because it really is the best strategy. Mario Kart is designed to keep everyone with an equal chance of catching up, so if one guy is dominating the rest of the racers, he's going to get punished for being fast. It doesn't matter if you're a good driver because the items in the game prevent you from exploiting that edge. I'm sure people could compare/contrast this to the government. :p

Anyway, I just run bad because I can't get any awsum items when I'm behind, so I just end up with shitty shells that don't do any good at the last minute.

lol that just means you suck at mario kart, its such an easy game, Dry Bones + Bullet Bill Bike + Gamecube controller = winning every race you play online, you get big enugh leads that even if you are hit by a blue shell once a lap you should still win*.

*provided your good at the game and can snake entire laps

yeah lost quite a bit overall due mostly to one day where I was angry, impatient, and tried running several ridiculous bluffs, but also because vegas is just plain expensive.

Meeting everyone and just having fun was well worth the price though. Am going next year and hope to see more of you guys come along.

Back to the online grind! First session in weeks today just 2 tabling and not only am I running good but I feel much more snug and solid. Just have to stop palying 30/25 :)

Do you feel you learned anything applicable to on-line from the Vegas experience?

Yeah wish I was 21, due to some witchery I might actually be in americanland next year. I hear what you're saying and I actually have that problem playing online waaaay too much.

BB: $49.25 (98.5 bb)
Hero (BTN): $50.75 (101.5 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with 7:diamond: J:heart:
Hero raises to $1.50, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3) 3:heart: 2:spade: 7:spade: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB raises to $5.50, Hero calls $3.50

Turn: ($14) 5:diamond: (2 players)
BB bets $10, Hero calls $10

River: ($34) A:diamond: (2 players)
BB bets $32.25 and is all-in, Hero calls $32.25

thoughts on my line ? first hand of the match
ill explain my thought process later

Nothing really new, but it reinforced some stuff I had lost hold of. Like patience. Sitting at one 10-handed game with a physical dealer goes a shit-ton slower than playing 8 6-handed computer-shuffled tables, and I had to really exercize my discipline there.

Anyone ever tried the Tommy Angelo 'move a chip from one stack to another every hand' to keep focused and stuff? I could only keep it going for like 2 hands before I would get distracted and laugh at a drunk or something.

enty: line looks fine, I probably jam turn though. He's repping a tiny value range and may actually be value betting worse 7s, so I don't think I'm ever folding readless and on the first hand.

Have you tried noise-cancelling headphones? They are heavenly for busy cardrooms like the Venetian.

Agreed, so why is jamming better than calling ?
You saying he doesn't necessarily continue bluffing or vbetting his worse 7 on the river and I won't get more value ?

Does HU have some insane dynamic or something.
I'd have folded the flop.

I want to have a go at HU when I reach 100NL, I hope it doesn't play too differently to 6max.

Yeah basically if you think about his range he has a hand that beats me a really small part of the time. There is no reason why he would check raise a better 7, especially cause it's this weird less than 3x size and because it is the first hand and there is no reason why he can't just call, call, call or call, bet it.

And he's just bluffing and spazzing out so much of the time. It's the first hand so he probably just wants to take it down right there on the flop and set the dynamic that he's in control and aggressive. That doesn't work so he just keeps barreling his bluff hoping I would fold, especially on that river that is a perfect card for him to bluffshove but imo it's unlikely that he has the ace at this point. Plus his PTR is really bad so i fully expect him to donk out.

If you want to switch over you can watch a whole bunch of good vids, I recommend starting with pr1nnyraiding season 1 on DC.
WiltOnTilt's new series HUNL Dojo is really awesome too, I just watched the first vid and the analysis is just awesome, looking forward to the next episodes.

Saw quad Jacks on the board during a Full tilt tournament yesterday. Either a $.10 rebuy or the freeroll to the daily dollar, I can't remember. But chat lit up pretty quickly when that case jack hit. :D

Also, I'm back from the dead. Almost forgot about this forum altogether, but I was going through an old DVD of hard drive backups, and found this bookmark again.

I dunno I'd have his range as any 7, Flush draws, Overpairs, sets or air.
Even the Overcards I aint too keen on as I'm not gunna know were am at when half the deck could give him a higher pair than me and I;m out of position.
makes me very bluffable especially as am out of position. In position I would call.
Would you play it the same way without this first hand dynamic you speak off.

Oh and know any stoxpoker videos for it?
I had all of DC's library but accidently deleted it. :(
