well the most obvious (but far from the only) times to do it for value are say when there's like 4 to a straight on the board and you have the super nuts (JT on 9876 and you want to just own a T, and often a 5) or you have quads/the super boat on a full house making board and you want to zeebo some guy who can't fold a good boat (AA or JT on JJJ98). in most situations like that against weakish players you'd be losing money by not overbetting

for a bluff it's just when you can tell the guy is trying to play pot control with something marginal but they're not prepared to call a huge bet. but uh yeah i wouldnt really use that at 50NL HU especially since you're trying to play against weak players in the first place and their weakness will usually be overvaluing hands rather than undervaluing

I'm not sure if I should look at that graph and be happy as my streak as of late pales in comparison to that horrible horrible graph.

On the other hand I'm filled with dread that one day that WILL happen to me:(

Condolences mate, hope it improves soon.

Before this post I had always presumed that private tourneys tended to have rather tough fields.
I feel rather foolish for thinking this now.
A freeroll's a freeroll I guess.

Overbetting in HU against fish is like..the nuts. It doesn't even have to be against fish it confuses the hell out of regs too.

Overbetting in HU against fish is like..the nuts.

i assume you mean more for value than for bluffs though, ya? the thing with most fish at HU in my limited experience is that they'll basically look for any excuse possible to call you with 2nd pair or better -- often true in other forms of the game but of course magnified heads up. they've heard the whole ESPN norman chad mantra of "a pair is a great hand HU!" and they take it to heart, so i would usually not be in the habit of trying to get fish off hands in that fashion

Yeah for fish it's pretty much always for value, unless they're a nit fish that is just playing with scared money. I've taken lines against fish where I just two times pot it on the flop and overshove the turn and get called by 2nd pair, it works especially well if they've seen you show a bluff once or twice.

Was up 2BI's for the day, now up 1BI thanks to this disgusting hand lol

I pretty much butchered it 170 odd bb's deep, shoulda left when i doubled up off this guy earlier on, he's a 56/18 who was dying to stack me, like calling every raise i made, b/c i doubled up when i hit my set against his AA annd stacked him, was getting called a donk through the whole session b/c of that and i kinda justify it here altho it is a slight cooler as if the 3rd ace comes i'm never stacking :(

man its been like a week since i started a session by not dropping at least 2 buyins in 150 hands, today was the turn of being unable to fade a set drawing a 3bet pot, and thinking top 2 was ahead of a 73/x's range. Makes hte game fun fun

I dont think that I've ever been this tired in my life. Just finished the walking festival over here. 4 days, 40 miles per day, carrying a pack.

Lots of blisters as well, at least though i done it, more of a personal challenge for me :)
