How do you deal with the crazy aggressive player?

Generally when table is playing tight, you loosen up & vice versa. This also is a very basic way to approach a player. You want to let him win the smaller pots and take lot of uncontested pots when nothing is in the middle then in the bigger pots when you continue past the flop and have a stronger starting hand this will work to your benefit as what they have amassed in many hands will all be lost in more in one pot. Realize that patience is key and not to get frustrated that it may seem you aren't winning many pots, this isn't how the score is settled in the end.

Do you plan to stream more in the future? Not only big series like Wcoop & Scoop
Yes! I will stream next weekend Sunday possibly, Monday for sure. I really enjoy streaming & looking for a good option close to my home base of Miami (Bahamar) was amazing to do more in the future more frequently!

PBF! Good to see you made pro on CC, congrats! You can pick all or none of these to answer.

1) How was Burning Man this year?

2) What is the best Perky or Antonio story that you can share?

3) Is Stream Boat happening? Looks like the island is recovering.

4) Besides bencb789, what pros do you "talk" poker with, or have you advanced past that? Have you met bencb789 IRL?

I was playing since High School. After I graduated college that was just what I was doing & had a six figure score at the WSOP in 1k buy in 2009 and the rest is history!
Nice !!! I'm a huge fan Jeff. I love your videos on YouTube also. I hope all is well

Hi Jeff, love the stream and the fact you are so passionate about poker.
Poker can often be very intense and emotional at times, was wondering about what you like to do to decompress outside of the game. Do you meditate, practice yoga, go on retreats, hike or do something else to help you revitalize yourself?
Thanks,
Hippo
Yes it can! I meditate, yoga as well now and again. I try to work out daily and before I play. Spending time w/ my Wife relaxes me as well!

Hi Jeff! I'm happy that you became a member of our community! By the way, I'm now watching your game on Twitch and I want to wish you good luck!
The question is: did you start playing at the micro-limits or did you start playing immediately at the higher limits? What tournaments will you recommend playing at low limits? And how do you feel about playing cash games?
Thank you I am happy about this as well! I started playing .25/.50c cash live and online. I also started playing $5-$33 mtt online. I like cash games a lot, less variance and more consistent. MTT online is what I prefer to stream though!

Hello Jeff, love your videos and the way you play the game. I was wondering if you had info on how to manage my chip stack when I get a huge stack, usually I get too aggressive and lose all my chips trying to knock people out and I end up losing it all because of it
Thank you! Yes, I think that learning how to play a big stack is very important. Opening a lot is fine but when get resistance you need to concede often. Players will be timid of your stack and being covered; so if you open QJo for example and a player shoves 20bb or 3bets you this would be a good hand to release. You will pick up many uncontested pots, having a big stack does not mean trying to win every single pot! Let some go and pick good uncontested spots.

When did you realise that you can play on a professional level? And what steps/ games did you play that transition you from a amature to a professional
Hitting the six figure score at the wsop in 2010 gave me a big bankroll and confidence boost. Getting into good cash games was key as well as always using responsible bankroll management!

Hi Jeff! I've been having fun watching your WCOOP runs. I love your positivity, and learned a few things just by watching. I marvel at you and others who can grind it out seemingly all day and all night.

My question is, how many hours do you put into a typical session? Or do you not go by time spent but by tournaments/buy-ins played?
Thank you! Yes I am def known for endurance and long streams/sessions. I think part of this is since I am more of a streaky streamer; i am on for few weeks at time then off for a period of time; I make the most of when I do stream! I don't really set a total time, but I do generally have a plan on what the latest time I will register a tournament is. If i get KO early and am still hungry and rested to play I will fire up a few more turbos or hypers so that it doesn't go forever if I run deep.

Hi Gross, I'd like to know by what limit of buyin you played poker and how long you started to get satisfactory results on that limit.
Hey there! I started at .25/.50 and played there for while online and live at home game w/ friends. After my bankroll was healthy I moved up limits and then would sell some action and moved up to higher stakes to get a feel for it. Having a comfortable bankroll is key in my opinion! Never risking too much to break your bankroll is important; especially as you get further along in the process. If you bust your roll a few times this is not a big deal. If you have been playing for years and then all of a sudden bust your roll this is harder to overcome and more mentally challenging to get back on track. I started playing in 2002/2003 and stayed at the same limits for a year or two.

Hello Jeff!

Who is the best poker player, you have played against?

Success in what you do!

Georgi.

:)
This is a difficult question. I can say that playing in the Premier League Season VII the $125,000 invite only buy in w/ some of the worlds elite in a point format event was very intense and difficult. Playing against Dan Colman, Brian Rast, Sorel Mizzi heads up in the heats as well as Jason Koon, Vanessa Selbst, Antonio Esfandiari, Jungleman, Dan Shak, Phil Laak, Scott Seiver & Johnathan Duhamel. There is some great footage of these heats on YouTube! Also I would say playing against Fedor Holz & Justin Bonomo had a special table presence about them!

I don't believe so. I think there was a few year period where things got very murky. I believe that the major sites having competition is great & it is making everyone raise the bar. Also w/ new games and variations of poker such as short deck I think this is going to keep everyone on their toes. Poker is timeless, it will always be around and that is what is so cool about it. 2 card NLH may not always be the most popular form but Poker is here to stay!
Couldn`t disagree with you more . Competition cut from the same cloth makes the same profit driven uniform . :sheep: Stock holders demand more , players receive less . :damnmate: Sit&Gos at PS are a great example of how quickly , quick fix casino spins , are more attractive than the great game of poker and players don`t seem to care how much profit is being made . I would like to think Poker Pro`s could open a player friendly site , but this cant happen as the corporates wont allow it . :playingba TO LATE , player saturation , over raking and no incentives will make poker JUST another form of gambling . :banghead:

I get a lot of instances where I choose not to play the two cards dealt to me, and the turn into monster hands after flop turn river. And I mean like not quality cards like 3-8 offsuit. They haunt me.
Any thoughts or help

Hello and thank you so much for being willing to answer so many questions!

My question is less about strategy and more interpersonal poker dynamics. I imagine it isn't often at your level that you run into an opponent who is just downright rude or unpleasant to the point where it is impacting the game and I know that live there are authority figures to intercede...

That all being said, how do you respond when this happens at a table?

Thank you again!
Yes this is rare but you can always pick up and leave, or move tables. You can also ignore them and make sure you don't play w/ them again. Most of my live experience is home games so they wont be invited back if this is the case. Online you can email customer support which I have done only a few times in many years. You also have to feel a bit of sympathy for someone who is like this who must be having personal difficulties!

Hi Jeff, I subbed to your channel :) I was wondering if you thought having a set raise (I use 2.3 BB as my main) is better than constantly changing the sizes. I tend to raise the same no matter what to mask what I have, unless 3-betting of course.
I like to have the same sizing almost always. Sometimes near bubble or based on the bb stack size I will adjust accordingly. Also think interesting to note that from earlier pos can raise less and later pos raise more trying to build a bigger pot in pos. Yea 3betting out of pos also size up!

How do you deal with stupid?

What I mean by this, is how to handle busting out of tournaments because you shoved all in preflop and got called by someone who had no business calling you? As an example, the other day I was playing and we were down to 13 with top 10 ITM. I was 12th with about 8 bb left and 7 at our table. Second to act, I have JQo. First folded, I shoved. Next folded, next called me (about 25% of his chips) and the rest folded. He turns over 42o and makes a straight to bust me. I don’t mind bubbling if he had a pocket pair, or Ax, or even something like 89s. But 42o?? I was steaming after. How do you handle situations like this? I know over time I want him to call with that but in a tournament you’re done. Hard way to go out after couple of hours of good play.
Yes this is very frustrating but this is a super gift! Seeing this is a good sign for poker and you literally have to smile and appreciate that action which is hard to find. The person is lighting money on fire and although it didnt' work out you should always welcome this action!! I know it's not fun to lose like that but you want that trust me!
