disassociation is for better imo. If you don't disassociate, I feel like it would be impossible to play higher than like 2/5 or so....assuming we aren't all millionaires and what not.

Eh idk. No matter how much money it is, if you are rolled for the game it shouldn't be too stressful. Plus, part of the thrill of poker is knowing you are playing for cash. I doubt Scourrge could grind 2nl or play money games and not be bored out of his mind.

I think you're right - I'd probably be pretty bored playing like 10nl and below at this point... But also it's less about the EXACT dollar amount and more about knowing that I'm generically playing for a sum that makes some sort of difference to me? And that changes over time ofc, but I think it's always somewhat proportional to my roll, life circumstances, etc. But this is less to do with the dollar amount itself than the concept of the money mattering, maybe?

I guess when I'm actually in a game and making bets, or looking at profits, it's more of a number on the screen than an actual thing worth money. But that doesn't mean I completely forget that some concept of monetary value based on my performance is involved. Granted this is less true live when I'm cashing out of a game and am actually physically holding the money... Then it still tends to feel real, dollar amount, etc.

Scourrge, you got to be able to sit at a game with all the money you have to your name abd be able to make that river bluff shove.

Then you are a poker player. Wanna play 25/50 tonght?

Yeah sure that works. Though it should really be like a 10k SnG. Starting stacks = 100,000bb, blinds double every 2 days.

Starting to get a little annoyed by losing every single hand I play that gets to be over 5bb.

BTN: 100 BB (VPIP: 41.48, PFR: 26.10, 3Bet Preflop: 10.88, Hands: 1,786)
SB: 265.5 BB (VPIP: 30.11, PFR: 20.22, 3Bet Preflop: 9.32, Hands: 448)
BB: 70.5 BB (VPIP: 43.33, PFR: 11.67, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 60)
UTG: 47 BB (VPIP: 45.17, PFR: 5.40, 3Bet Preflop: 0.52, Hands: 355)
UTG+1: 83 BB (VPIP: 40.29, PFR: 12.14, 3Bet Preflop: 1.28, Hands: 207)
Hero (MP): 126 BB
MP+1: 86.5 BB (VPIP: 30.57, PFR: 5.24, 3Bet Preflop: 4.41, Hands: 599)
MP+2: 123.5 BB (VPIP: 27.77, PFR: 10.23, 3Bet Preflop: 5.19, Hands: 709)
CO: 122.5 BB (VPIP: 32.89, PFR: 21.76, 3Bet Preflop: 6.22, Hands: 616)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB, MP+1 posts penalty blind 1.5 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 3 BB) Hero has 9<font color='black'>♣</font> 9<font color='red'>♦</font>

fold, fold, Hero raises to 5 BB, MP+1 calls 4 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 5 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (17 BB, 3 players) 9<font color='red'>♥</font> A<font color='black'>♣</font> 8<font color='red'>♥</font>
Hero checks, MP+1 checks, BTN checks

Turn: (17 BB, 3 players) 6<font color='red'>♥</font>
Hero bets 13 BB, MP+1 calls 13 BB, fold

River: (43 BB, 2 players) 7<font color='red'>♦</font>
Hero bets 29 BB, MP+1 calls 29 BB

You already explained your river bet was a value bet. Could I ask why so? You were losing to any ten, any five, any two hearts. I don't see many hands calling that river that doesn't beat you. Since villain flatted the turn, he'd probably have you by the turn.

Psh. I'm not stupid enough to play 10/25 with you, margy boy. Nor 5/10. Nor 2/5. Nor even 1/2, rolled or not. :p

Not sure how long ago that hand is from... But yeah there are worse hands that can call. Can't say I really remember the hand well though.

Since binkage, I've run pretty meh. I've shotted some bigger games and come up very, very short in the rungood department. The last two weeks have been the biggest losing streak I've had over such a short time period (down 4-5k), and that's at a variety of games.

The epitome has been the last two days. Took a trip out to Milwaukee with my gf, primarily to grind, and I lost 1.2k in my first session, which consisted of 1/3 NL and 1/2/5 PLO - it only lasted 3 hours.

Then today I fired off some bullets at this super soft 5/10 PLO and 5/10 NL on this private online game, but getting it in with 70+% equity just isn't enough these days. Lost multiple flips in PLO (standard), and lost a 90% equity spot for full stacks in NL (somewhat less standard). Just not fun to dump > 2k in < 20 minutes.

I'm technically underrolled for these games, but only barely, and it's frustrating to take such a slap in the face after I feel like I've been playing so well the last month and a half or so. Add my recent BV losses to that (some play bad in there for sure), and I'm thinking about kissing the 5/10's good bye for the time being. So aggravating because all I needed to do was run half way decent in it for the first few sessions and I would basically never have to move down again, but now I'm looking at probably having to wait another 5-6 months to move back up to it if I decide to move down, because it's so hard to grind that much up playing primarily 1/2. The closest 2/5 options to me is Milwaukee, so unfortunately I'm looking at a pretty massive leap in stake options usually.

Haven't definitively decided to quit the private 5/10 for now, and I haven't looked at my BR numbers recently (because I don't want to projectile vomit when I see them), but given my recent streak I'm assuming I'm dwindling pretty low on validity to shot that game.

Surprise to read you actually expect run half decent:) , i mean just look this thread and you run bad like always.

I just read about your binkage last month, grats man, happy for you.
Which bring to present run, better look up your BR numbers and set a mark to move down before is too late, just be smart.

Best of luck m8

Hahahaha I obviously don't always run bad, but ofc I complain more about run bad than state when I run good. Also, it's probably inevitable that I notice run bad more than run good cause I'm a big-headed, egotistical, and narcissistic asshole. :D

Part of it is also that I've been less active on CC in general, and I've been running deece the past few months before the last couple weeks, but haven't been posting about it. I had a 3k session about a month and a half ago playing the Friday night home game -> uncapped 1/2 NL/PLO game in town.

Thanks for dropping in Logan, appreciate it as always. :)
