Sucks but look like a good fold to me.
Any merit to lead flop?.

What level is this, 25nl?

It's 1/2, but it's not on Bovada, and it's actually a rotation game - half plo, half no limit holdem.

And yes, I think flop is a definite lead :)

I'm not informed enough to comment on relative values of blockers, but we heavily block all worse hands and on slightly block better hands

I mean with his line, he never has two pair (except maaaaaybe a Q5xx played weirdly, and least likely combo), so blocking the Q doesn't worry me. Blocking 55xx sucks though, b/c this is like the only worse hand he is repping. Otherwise it's basically all A4xx and 64xx.

we have the 3rd nuts, we need to fold. I don't think this is even that close tbh.

Too many combinations beating us and very few we are beating. He'd have to be one of those guys that literally click buttons at random to look him up. And yeah, lead flop.

On a work trip Monday-Thursday, but currently at parents' place relaxing. Well, doing some work too, but mostly just relaxing.

My poker table has shipped and should arrive at my apartment sometime this week. So excited!! Looking forward to playing with real chips for the first time since Vegas. And hopefully it goes better for me than that did...

I am sad that blob coming in and discussing fantasy sports is the only way to keep this thread alive.

Anyway, kind of in RL crisis mode. Work has me completely miserable and anxious all the time. Just got home from a work trip and legitimately did not want to come back just because of how bad it is. Plus, my gf just got kicked out of her student teaching program and doesn't really have a backup plan. She is potentially moving in as soon as 2 weeks from now (over a month and a half earlier than expected), which isn't inherently bad, but I'm such a wreck because of work these days that I'm really worried about it.

Sorry for thread to take a massive downer, but I don't really know what else to say. Haven't played a hand of poker in at least a week and a half I think. And probably next time I'll realistically play is at home game next weekend - assuming I can get all my shit together by then.

Only poker news: Getting into some staking with deuces. More news to come, since we're just now getting off the ground, but the getting's looking good.

How bad is the work stuff exactly? Short term or long term?

Kind of hard to describe without derailing forever. But it's basically trial by fire. We have 4ish months of training, but only like 5% of it pertains to my actual day-to-day job.

Plus, I was the first one of my hire-group to get a customer, and to travel, which actually put me behind in training. Then my boss was on sabbatical and our first meeting back he said he looked over my progress and mistook me for an August or September hire (I started in July). Which is objectively ridiculous, but I couldn't really say anything in reply.

It just feels like I've been completely set up to fail, and no one really appreciates that I was put into a much more difficult position than my peers.

Well hello to you too scourrge. Didn't try to hijack lol. Hope all works out with you and your girl man.

I know. :) Was just joking around. Nice to see you about - and thanks for the well wishes. It'll work out in the end I think, just super stressful.

Will do. Poker table is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I should be able to have enough set up to snap some pics.

I like the line you took, can't see what you'd get value from OTR so I prefer checking for pot control and to let him bluff.

Hmm. What are you trying to pot control against? I agree on like river check, but it's because I felt like his entire turn-call range was air.

It's true he almost never has better so there is little need for pot control, he may have a weirdly played set, but it's unlikely. My main reason for checking the river would be to let him bluff (the same as yours).
