dude if you have a limited number of bullets, regging each flight seems like the best option, since reentry is going to be into worse conditions than just entering next day, especially if you have cash games running to convert the spare time into $EV and fEV

Very good point.... Bleh. I guess this is even more true since there are 6 total flights. I almost certainly won't play the Day 1a, but I can definitely do Day 1b and then 1c on Tuesday and then go from there. Probably would never play the last flight on Wednesday because I'd want to sleep the night before Day 2 anyway. So I guess there's my potential 4 bullets lol.

And yeah, I'm definitely not firing off like 2k at this tourney

I get all excited every time one of my tweets get read on air. Its fun to get to interact with the streams, huh?
Wishing you luck on your super summer schedule!

Yeah, it sure is haha. Thanks for the support!

Just go for the gold, man. Go all out Neagreanu-style and rebuy 48 times.

This may end up happening... Although, 48x$250 = $12,000, more than my BR, soooo.... :D

Also, ended up sleeping in later than I meant to. So prob I'll just meander out from my house whenever I finish lunch/packing, and head to the hotel first. If the timing works out, I'll hop into Flight 1b, but I doubt I'll be there in time for it. So I'll probably just eat a light, early dinner, then head over for a cash grind.

Then I'll play the 11am Flight 1c tomorrow. I'm pretty excited for the grind, but not overly so for the 2 hour drive.

Hah, too late. And besides, I don't like wearing headphones while driving, and my speaker on my phone isn't strong enough.

Made it safe and sound to Connecticut, and getting ready for the grindddd. Check my twitter for more consistent updates, but likely won't be much to report until tomorrow anyway.

Wish me luck guyz!

Uh, I have a radio, but that doesn't mean I have a way to connect my phone or computer up to it. There may be a way, but my car is 18 years old, so the only way would be to plug something into the cigarette lighter lol.

Cassette?

F off lol.

For anyone not following twitter, but following this thread, some VERY quick updates:

First day was pretty boring. I got lost on the way to the hotel because the address was wrong online. Thankfully not so wrong that I was in the wrong part of Connecticut or anything though. After I checked in, I went to the casino and played 1/2 to "warm up" and wipe the rust away. I made some minor mistakes early but played decently overall. Got into a few cooler spots, and some spots where villain managed to flip vs. me but was crushed by my range, so I was okay with it. Dumped $400 in the early game, but ended up only losing $60 on the session.

By any objective measure, yesterday went pretty well. I played the 11am Flight 1c, lasted 6 hours, and busted out in 26th out of an estimated 85-90 person field (the board only ever said 7 tables 10-handed, but there were late regs after people busted, as well as reentries). I walked away with nothing, but the field was soft and I played phenomenally. I only dropped below 100bb after about level 6, which obviously involved some level of rungood, but I felt in my element. I was playing a lot looser than usual for a tourney, iso-ing and taking down pots, but not spewing. Eventually I lost a flip to 77 where I 3b/called v a cold-4b from a guy who's sizing indicated he couldn't really have KK+. There was a K in the window, but the last card on the flop was a 7. I turned a flush draw but couldn't get there. That left me with about 25bb instead of a monster stack.

The rest of the tourney involved few hands I could raise and even fewer spots I could make moves. In the end I folded 3 orbits straight, then open-jammed 12.5bb with 99 on the HJ and got snapped by AA on the button. "Any two cards can win" according to the floor person nearby, but on 77327, my 99 was no good.

It was exactly 5 when I busted, and I briefly considered playing Flight 1d, but I opted not to. I was tired, hungry, and needed a mental break. I grabbed some food, took a walk, and felt much better about my bustout and my next-day chances. Then I sat down at 2/5. I was a little worried at first. The table was quiet, I received a few stares when I sat down, and quite a few people were shuffling chips.

But then I sat down, posted from the CO, and watched as two player solemnly limped in for $5. "Oh," I thought to myself. "This is gonna be good." It folded to me and I raised to $25 with A5hh. It folded back to the overlimper, who called. I cbet a dry board and took it down. The very next hand, I looked down at KK in the HJ. It folded around to me and I made it $20 to go. The SB called, and the BB made it $90, with about $300 left. I could have made a small 4b, but that felt extremely face up, and given I'd been the aggressor last hand, I decided to jam, and try to get action from a much weaker range, something like AK/TT+. I went all in, but both players folded. Still a nice way to start a session.

The rest of the session went decently. I chipped up a lot early, a lot from value betting, but some from taking down pots vs. weak ranges. I was effectively only showing down strong hands, which helped a lot, but the table was soft. I never had to leave the must-move, which eventually became a main game. My stack went as high as $1.5k from my $500 buyin, but I got tripped up in a couple spots. I opened AA and got two callers. I cbet a T73 two tone board and got one call from a guy who was playing very loosely, with a lot of offsuit double and triple gappers. The turn was the suited 5, and I checked. Villain bet about 40% pot, leaving only $165 behind after his $100 bet. This is a clear spot for a fold but I x/r all in instead, and lost to his 53o.

Then, I ended up 4betting air against a guy who had literally 3bet me 7 or 8 times in the last 2 or 3 hours. He ended up 5betting me and showing AKs. He said he was terrified of doing that because he was worried I actually had a hand that time. I didn't ask him why he decided to 5bet, then. To put it in perspective, he was probably one of the best players at the table. I walked away +$275, which gave me net profit on the day, but not the trip yet. That's still to come. :)

Today, I'm up early again and planning to give Flight 1e a shot. I may re-enter if I bust "early," but with 300bb starting stacks and a soft field, I don't anticipate that being very likely. I probably won't play the last flight, since cashing would likely keep me at the casino past 2am, and I'd want to be able to sleep before Day 2.

Anyway I've got to run to breakfast, which is closing in 10 minutes - I'm starving!! Wish me luck, and see you all at the tables.

Good luck! Sounds like a blast and makes me wish I could get out and play live. You seem overall upbeat and positive. May those feelings remain with you for the trip!

Good luck out there. I was very recently in vegas (just before the wsop) and covered my whole trip with poker.

Also- I have used the cassette to ipod jack, its a real thing. the noise is distorted a little, but not awful.

Crush that tourney.

'Busted again. Open AQ to 1k at 150/300 with 10k stack. Get 3b to 4k. Easy fold but I thought he was on another level so I jammed into KK.'

Bahaha, Scourge you're the GOAT.

Ok, well I don't have a cassette player in my car.

@9k: Yeah I mean like I said, even immediately after the hand I realized how bad it was, but when I said I thought he was on another level it wasn't really an excuse. The guy was obviously thinking about what was going on, and I didn't have enough characters to explain on Twitter. The guy was pretty loose, and I thought his sizing was meant to look committing, but in reality I think I was one level too deep. His sizing was a REAL sizing tell lol. Also he hadn't really been 3betting pre so that just made it terribad.

Anyway, trip was a ton of fun, but pretty deep into the hole. If I didn't have a sweet job lined up for July I'd be more annoyed etc. But anyway, I went 0/4 in my entries. 6 hours in the first entry, 2nd and 3rd were in the same tourney, about 2.5 hours total, and 4ish hours in the last entry. Then I went almost exactly breakeven in cash games, with -$60 in 4 hours at 1/2, and +$63 in 2 sessions and 9.5 hours at 2/5. I'll go into more detail about the cash games later today probably.

Oh, and as for pics of the people, that would have felt kind of rude lol. I'll keep the overall sentiment of "moar picz plz" in mind for when I go to Vegas though! :)

Hand 1. Just felt his range is too wide on the flop for me to get much value. My cbets were getting a massive amount of credit this session too. We like the line? Or prefer standard cbet?

Hand 2. Maybe should have raised turn bigger for action from draws, but was a little worried villain had a weakish Jx that would fold to a bigger raise. Thoughts?

Also not sure which 3bet you meant, but in both of them it was likely due to a very low Fv3bet stat.

Oh my stack size. I usually top up pretty frequently but tbh I was rusty and just didn't want to be in the game for too much. Not a great reason, true, but there it is. Rust has been cleaned though, and there'll be no more of that nonsense.
