Well that is definitely evidence that I should not bluff that fish. But surely we can bluff some of the crappie or possibly salmon, right?

Many different types of fish but when it comes down to it, a fish is a fish.

I'm encouraging you to think outside of the box on this one. Lets look at polar opposites. If the idea is that only good players are capable folders then you should never bluff a fish and you should always bluff a winning reg every time. If the second statement isn't true then how can the first statement be true?

Sometimes a fish has a hand he refuses to fold. Likewise, a reg will often have a hand he cannot fold. I don't think it's bad to generalize in order to keep things simple but surely some fish can be bluffed.

Regs will catch onto your frequencies, fish won't.

I think we can bluff fish sometimes and trust me, I think outside the box a little too much if anything.

I wasn't trying to sound accusatory buddy. And you're right in both of those statements.

Yeah that is a shocking call with bottom pair. Whether I try to bluff is usually linked to my table image. Tight then bluff, loose then give up, here your Ace high will beat busted draws on occasion so if they have any sort of high wtsd just don't bluff.
The AK looks like a good disciplined fold. You're right there's too many flushes & straights around for anything but the nuts to be doing this.
Available for sweats later today after work.

I agree with exploiting your image when bluffing and value betting. I played an interesting hand yesterday but I don't have the history because I neglected to start the CC before loading the tables.

I had a reasonable hand in the BB and there were two limpers in the first hand I played. I make it 6x and get two folds, nice. I was going to close the table the next hand so I could get my hud up but I get JJ in the sb. Again there are two limpers and it's only the second hand I've played. Again I 6x and the BB calls and so does the btn. The flop comes 10, low, low all spades, i have the J of spades. I bet 3/4 of the pot, the BB flats and the btn shoves the rest of what was almost a full stack. I'm happy to boogie with this one, I shove. He had J10 and I stacked him. I'm sure he was a fish but I think that me 6xing the first two hands played a part in his decision to not believe I had a strong hand.

I'll keep my skype open. Me and Yoshiaki were planning to look at some spots this afternoon. We can all link up.

Not a good night. Down almost 2BI and bovada just snap closed on me again. This is getting ridiculous.

One of my roommates has too many dogs and they're always barking way too early. I don't usually get to bed until 2 am and the past three days I've been woken up at 530am because those stupid ass dogs are barking as she leaves for work at starbucks. I said something to her about it and she acts like it's funny and that I just hate animals or something... Meanwhile, she cages her dogs 23.5 hours of the day. Even when she's off work.. But I'm the animal hater? She's fat. Hopefully she will eat her dogs.

Done for the night and I'll have to bang out 10hrs tomorrow if I am to hit my 35hrs for the week. I don't see that happening.

Tough break man but 2BI is hardly something to get upset about, lol. I've ran 8-12 buy ins under EV for months now and been coolered a ton.

For real though, I HATE people that cage their dogs. The animals need exercise and to be able to wear themselves down or they become complete annoyances. My friend used to do that and then he would get pissed when the dog when nuts and jumped on people and shit its like.... HELLO!!! If you were locked in a cage 20 hours a day you would go a little nuts when you got let out too....

I hate people that own animals just to own them.

Yeah, I totally agree. I'm just tilted at the fact that I'm so mentally exhausted. I'm looking at the screen and just spacing and I know it's because I haven't been getting good sleep.

My living situation is a bit extreme at the moment but it is also extremely cheap. I stay with some family friends and I rent a room, while a married couple rents the basement which is like a nice sized apartment with a kitchen and walk out. This chick has 5 dogs and 4 cats (until a couple months ago she had 7dogs!) and they're all in cages just big enough for them to spin around. And unfortunately the 23.5 hours in their cages isn't even an over exaggeration. It's extra messed up because the walkout is into a very large fenced in yard.

And you're absolutely right, it's not fair to the animals man. She's one of those "my animals are my babies" types but they seem more like collectible action figures or something. She never walks them or so much as plays fetch with them. They get to go outside to use the bathroom and that's it.

I'm pretty open about the fact that I don't like unruly animals. She tried to get me to take one of the beagles when she was getting rid of two and I explained to her that because I'm in a transitional period of my life that I cannot take on that responsibility. I want to travel next year and I can't commit to a new dog so she calls me animal hater all of the time. It's so annoying because I had a dog and he was my homie. His name is bear, he's a 12 year old Akita. I lost him in a breakup like 6 months ago but I took very good care of him and he was well trained and well behaved. But he's in good hands with my ex so it's all good.

I'm so tilted about this crap lately. I want to call animal control on this chick or something but I'm not sure this actually constitutes animal abuse... It's certainly abusive to my mental game lol.

Man that's terrible, life is difficult enough without noisy dogs. She sounds like a nightmare, I hate people who don't treat their animals properly.
I'd start looking for alternatives I don't see how you are going to be able to change the dog situation.
It it sounds like she does just enough to avoid getting them taken away. Why not make a call or two to animal welfare and check that out? Can't be bad to know where you stand. Knowledge is power.

That film I mentioned is "keeping Mum"
Rowan Atkinson, Maggie Smith, Patrick Swayze.
The mum kills next doors barking dog (as well as disposing of a variety of other nuisances). It's quite a fun film, very British.

I second the 'Keeping Mum' endorsement. One of my favourite black comedies.

Yeah man it's pretty taxing lately. I got woken up again today after about 4 hours of sleep.. I was super tilted over it last week but I'm trying not to get angry about it anymore. I just have to deal somehow and honestly it's not the dog's fault. I'm not a fan of snitching but I talked with the owners of the house and they agree that the dogs are being mistreated. They're just so non confrontational that they refuse to say anything to them about it. However I don't mind a little confrontation :). At least two but probably three of the dogs are emaciated to some degree. I've lived here for 6 months now and there's no excuse for a dog to stay that skinny for that long... I'm planning to call the humane society and get some information and see what can be done today.

Lol, that movie doesn't sound like a black comedy tim. But I guess there's only one way to find out. I'll have to check it out.

Dropped like 2.5BI today. Mostly to suckouts though. Nothing to see there. I think I might be c betting a little too much though. Other than some cbets I could have save myself I only had one hand that I wasn't happy with how I played. I'm going to do some deeper reviewing tomorrow and post anything interesting.

lol there is a bit of irony there.

Deuces, I've contacted the humane society and the local shelter for information. What I found out is that because I live outside of the city limits there are no ordinances that allow either of them any authority to do anything. They have suggested that I call the sheriff's dept. and file a police report. What would happen then is that a police officer would come to our residence and inspect the dogs. I think they bring the humane society personnel with them and if they determine that the dogs are truly being neglected they would most likely confiscate all of their animals and they would be charged with something. I'm not sure of the charge exactly.

I'm hesitant to do this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I don't like calling the police on people. I honestly consider it to be one of the lowest things one can do to someone. Secondly, I'm not sure how skinny a dog has to be exactly in order for it to be considered neglect. If I call the law I'm going to look like a huge D to 2/3 of the people that I live with and if they decide that the dogs are well enough to remain in their care then I'll also look like a retard.. However, I do feel morally obligated and I'm 90% sure I'm going to file the report. I just have to work up the courage to do so. I was thinking about maybe taking some pics first and taking them to the sheriff or something, idk.

[...] bovada just snap closed on me again.

Is this still an issue for you? This past week is the first time I have played there since early December, and I'm not having any problems.

Calling police is the last resort.
At least get some discreet photo's of the animals. People who know the breed will know if they are being mistreated
Why don't you offer to walk the dogs for a fee? Just a couple of 20 min walks a day could do wonders and you'd still be in everyones good books. And getting a decent break from the screen and some fresh air.
