I think betting on river is fine as you have plenty of AK that wants to bet and if villain has TT, A9 even AJ he is in a bad spot.

On the flop if you going to bluff I would probably have gone bigger but with no club on the flop it would be ok to give up too.

Villain played this one horribly, so passive. Difficult to know if he is scared of QQ or KK on the river or simply didnt bet as he knew you would stab at it.

Preflop: we must take utter attention to size bet, because it’s one of the few tells we have to play online poker. BU 3-bets to 3.6x and this is a huge sizing, that most of times represents a strong hand.
Given that I wouldn’t mind to be folding 22-88 in the same spot.
Pay attention to sizing: villain is 3-betting IP to almost 4x.
Flop we don’t have too much and villain has 99+, so checking is okay. Villain checks back which could mean it isn’t with a pretty good hand.
On the turn we bet to make villain fold hands that missed and shouldn’t be paying here: AT+, KT+, etc. Villain doesn’t fold, so it continues with its values, draws, and semi-bluffs to try to float on here.
On the river completes a flush of clubs and we check out of position already planning to leave the pot or call a small bet to protect our entire range: nonetheless, villain jams instantly, and I see no reason to be calling here, we own no bluff catching combos, and we must remember villain 3-bets preflop to 3.6x, still holding strong combos on the river.

We shouldn’t give any credit to broken stacks like this one. I’m totally on board of 4-betting/jamming here, for villain has what, 50 blinds left? And we do own AK, so if happens that villain is setting a trap with AA, good for it!
Well played.

Yeah, plenty of weak players at NLHE 25, and this is real neat news. You played the hand fine and villain decided to overbluff or fancy play having just a single combo of third nut flush! (Villain bluffed a single jack of spades, how amazing is it?).
The other hands I made no comments because they were easy spots, with QQ and Ac4c for example.
Congratulations on your journey and keep on grinding!

Best regards;

4 players fold, marvinsytan (SB) raises to $0.75, vladskib (BB) calls $0.50

Showdown:
vladskib (BB) shows 8 7 (a pair of Nines)

marvinsytan (SB) shows T K (two pair, Tens and Nines)
(Equity - Pre-Flop: 65%, Flop: 64%, Turn: 82%, River: 100%)

marvinsytan (SB) wins $12.19
Preflop I like to open many combos from the SB when it comes in fold to us. If villain has a high percentage of fold vs steal, I’m raising 100% range, even 72o or any junky combo. Your sizing was fine so let’s see a flop:
The flop comes good to our range, because we have a ton of bluffs and missed hands from the SB, só villains won’t give us too much credit. I like your sizing too, and my strategy for c-betting follows like this: as worst the equity, higher the c-bet (of course I need to have some piece of equity, like a gutshot, a BDF, or anything. When I have no equity I simply give up). In this case we are holding TP2K, and a c-bet OOP is almost mandatory to protect our range and charge BB’s draws and dominated hands.
On the turn we could’ve bet a bit more, but this is also fine, if our plan isn’t to jam river. Villain continues to call here with his draws of spades and straights, plus some dominated Tx, 3x (As3s?), etc.
On the river you check and villain shoves his missed draws. It’s a typical regular move and he was expecting you to fold, but we are getting almost 4:1, só folding is hard.
This hand was well played by both players, although BB made a wrong reading about Hero on the river.

Total pot: $8.63 (Rake: $0.39)

It’s hard to call here on the river because we would be expecting villain to have a flush with what? 8 high??? Because dominated flushes with 9d, Td, Jd and Qd are impossible for this board for we own all of them. It would be very optimistic to believe that villain is shoving river with meh 8d, 5d, 4d and lesser. So our fold here is perfect.
I don’t think we could be bluff catching here, for the aforementioned reasons and characteristics of this particular board.

Preflop we could consider folding AQo to a 4-bet from time to time, depending on villain profile. Overall our strategy is simply to 3-bet AJ+ versus EP or fold if we do think opponent is too tight.
As played, the call is a good option having in mind that we are going to see a flop already dominated by AK and JJ+.
On the flop UTG polarized in a semi-dry configuration, where hero/defender wouldn’t be holding many straight draws: this high c-bet flop (considering this is a 4-bet pot) is a clear indication that we could be dominated for JJ, QQ (although we block part of it), KK and AA. However, we do hit TPTK, and it’s kinda hard to fold.
Wow! On the turn villain checks because it got scared that Hero/BU having AK!!! And this was very lucky to us who got a free river card.
On the river I would be checking behind most of times to realize our equity: for the very same reason UTG decided to check turn, we should be checking river, UTG has a lot of combos of AK that could’ve checked turn, and on top of that, villain also has all the spades combos.
Okay we do have a trips but this board isn’t the best to be thin betting. So checking back river would be better than betting, for if villain raises we could never fold it. And when villain raises we know we are lost. Luck to us, villain is kinda passive and just called your bet. In villain’s shoes I would be check-jamming this river, for I do own most of straights with AK and nut flushes, for we own the ace of spades.

Yeah, it sucks to fold but we know that many straights are ahead, so it’s much better to die out of curiosity than call “to see”. Well played.

P.S: I feel myself kinda embarrassed and overwhelmed, because I’m giving advices to a far better player than I am: you play NLHE 25 and I play only NLHE 2, by the way I’m still struggling to beat this stake.
Thanks for your respect to my poor observations, I still have a lot to learn.

disagree, bec he showed weakness on the turn

and trips i'll get value on a lot of hands that i don't want to miss if he jams snap fold nothing we can do

in poker if you know you have the best hand on the river until played back get that thin value or else you will not max your profit

Remember the goal max value min loses

he showed weakness on the turn
Nice reading mate, but respectfully, allow me to retort once more: it’s not weakness to try to control the pot on the turn where you could have a few combos of AK. Plus, if villain is a regular he was trying to balance his range. Otherwise, should we be betting flop, turn and river a 100% of times, thus we are strong?
lot of hands that i don't want to miss if he jams snap fold nothing we can do
Could you please tell us how much hands you expect villain to have after it 4-bets OOP and polarized to 1/2 pot on the flop? I see just a couple of hands in his range, not a lot.

AA KK that he wants to pot control just like what you said

how many times I can hit a gin river card like that when opp will going to give me some value super little, so take advantage of it

he is not checking the river if he have the nuts knowing i'm checking all my showdown value that's why for me it's a clear value bet

check turn/check river/ i called 4bet AQo IP which is normally dominated i just called because he gave me the odds to call IP then hit a perfect river card, i defo need to get that value bec the next time i might do this kind of a weak call i might lose a big pot

Bit of a cooler this one, but I would suggest not donking flop in a 3bet pot. Better to check range and check raise strong hands like this.

Preflop it’s fine to call 3-bet with these combos but it’s also fine if we do fold.
On the flop I’m not on board of leading with such a strong hand: we are turning a strong value hand into a bluff, plus we must consider two things:

a) we own most of the combos of Queens and Jacks so are we trying to extract value of which hands when we do lead to the flop???

b) we called a 3-bet postflop, so villain will have all the best hands KQ, AK, AQ, 99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK and AA. Okay that we are ahead of most of these combos but a check-calling versus c-bet would do the work better.
The turn is a terrible card because now villain has many hands that have us beat.
On the river I would check and wait for villain to move. But as played I will not say it’s wrong, but we do already know that villain got into the river with all the KK and KQ, so when it raises on the river, we feel that we are beat but we are forced to call, we wouldn’t be folding a full-house in this spot.
You play very good, one thing I would advise is that you should try to control the pot sometimes, specially when you are the defender (calling 3-bet OOP).

Damn, what a cooler, Marvin.

And maybe I'm too nit but what about the BN 3-betting KQs against UTG? Is it mainly a position 3-bet? 🤔

You haven’t ask to me, but I will answer it: UTG can be opening even 15% range, that includes a bunch of pocket pairs (22, 44+), a lot of suited connectors (98s+), so overall it’s fine to 3-bet KQs in position versus UTG, we also block some strong hands such as KK, QQ, AK, AQ.
Now, if UTG is way to NIT I would recommend to either 3-bet or fold. Because calling might create a 3-handed pot, which lowers our chances to realize our equity postflop.
Sorry for answering your question, maybe I’m intruding a bit once you have asked to the OP. I also would love to read his opinion on this matter.
