freerolls are great bankroll builders if you don't want to deposit. But they are frustrating because of the ways players act in them.

Over the years, especially in my early online poker days, I spent countless hours in freerolls. Why not, I was only working part time and going to school part time. Life was easy back then. Now, my time is limited for poker so I'm playing less and less freerolls, spending my time on actual descent size buyins so I can get a sizeable return for my time spent, granted making the money. Any thoughts on how much time you've consumed in freeroll land. Is it worth it?

I never wasted my time playing freerolls.

Look the CardsChat Daily Freerolls, for example. I am playing these games for 6 months, spending something between 30 minutes and 3 hours at maximum per day, and I have made more than USD 100, so IMO it is never a waste of time.
Freerolls are Bankroll builders, but we must have the patience and discipline to build up a solid roll to play "for real".

the truth is worth it or so I see it since I participate in good tournaments with a small investment considering that the strategy is different with a free freerroll since as the players do not risk anything they play it crazy

Everything has a learning process ... The logical thing would be to start playing freerolls and then go to tournaments with micro entries and thus go up the level ... Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. Good hands.

I like SOME freerolls like these from cardschat, vipgrinders or jackpotfreerolls but in other case its lost time when you play hours for a 1$ ticket and could'nt get some rakeback or leaderboard points for your time. Bad thing on the other side is that most poker sites earning millions of Dollars yearly on amateur poker players but then they spend almost nothing on freeroll tournaments while on same sites casino portals you can play everyday casinogames freeroll tournaments??? What's going on here??? sometimes for me it looks like only making big bugs is the Real interest.

You make a lot of sense.
Sites like poker stars could easily do several more freerolls per day.

I only play the CardsChat freerolls and I believe they are definitely worth it. Especially the weekly $300 freerolls. There’s usually 250-300 players so it’s like a $1 entry fee that you don’t pay. First place is usually around $60 and takes 4 ish hours, so it’s pretty good. Granted you are rarely going to win first and the hourly rate is much less than any other job, but if it’s you’re entertainment for the week, the winnings are a bonus.

freerolls

Of course, the time spent on freerolls is not wasted. This is a great opportunity to experiment with different types of games for free. I really love freerolls.

I don't think so. It helps you to learn the basics of poker and also start building your bankroll. You only have to be patience.

Free money is never waste of time, I'd be slightly more picky with them though, like playing ones that pay well & give good averages.

i like freerolls, its true if you dont get paid it feels like a waste of time, but i look at it as a learning experience, looking back at my good plays as well as my bad ones

I like to play freerolls they don't cost anything and we can still pinch some money when we go well on them; now regarding land and the time spent I believe I would have at least a small farm because it is several hours playing freerolls over these ten years playing poker

This is a interesting question.
People look at the time differently.
My personal opinion is that you play freerolls only during the process of learning how to play and not lose money in the process.
I personally have that goal, I came here to learn and I'm doing it slowly, naturally to come to me because I figured out the poker is similar, you must leave the game to come to you, you can't rush to win. From my experience every time when you rush in poker you wind up losing very quickly.

Freerolls are great, especially for me, poker is an addition to my life. I don't think I'm a professional player. I don't invest my own money in poker and thanks to CC I have really nice free tournaments. If you are patient and persistent, you can build a nice bankroll. I play differently once an hour and sometimes even 4 or 6 it all depends on how far I go. And when I have to stop, I don't lose anything because it's a freeroll.

good day

you don't waste time if you are learning. needless to say Cardchat should have more freeroll sessions for beginners.
