good luck to sweden to defeat Canada I believe they will do so! shame that the US lost to Canada but still the US is better at just about all other major sports other than hockey even though even there the US is better some years and some not, just an off year for Merica

VIKTOR AHN FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad South Korea didn't get a single medal in men's short track speed skating. Country that used to dominate the sport now can't even get a single medal. I love it. It's what they get for having a corrupted union that drove Ahn away.

Woot...the men's curling team kicked some ass:)

Hopefully the men's hockey team can do the same. It's going to be a good one....never underestimate the strength of Canada's defense!

Gold medal here we come!

I had the pleasure of watching Ted Ligety, Sage Kotsenburg, Kaitlyn Farrington, Maddie Bowman, Jamie Anderson & Mikaela Shiffrin all grab GOLD for the U.S.! It was badass! Congrats to them all :star:

Wow! What a finish there in the Women's Hockey Gold Medal game!

Dramatic comeback in final few mins. of 3rd period with Canada down 2 > 0
Canada scores then pulls their goalie.
Then USA hits the post on empty net.

55secs. left.. Canada scores!

And Canada wins it in overtime!

That was awesome!!!!!!!!

That was brutal! Maybe not for you lol but we in the U.S. were just shocked & heartbroken (@ least I was).

Great comeback from Canada though. They never gave up & fought hard. It payed off

congrats to Canada's Marielle Thompson Kelsey Serwa for winning gold and a silver women's ski cross

That sport is KRA-Z! I saw more falls & spills in that Ski Cross than any other event I watched. It's a rough & tough sport, props to all of the competitors!

Viktor Ahn is number one!
Third gold!

He's a BEAST!

I'm obviously always rooting for the U.S. in any event held, but it doesn't suck when a guy like him wins. For me, it was a win/win situation watching all those events that he won.

I watched the closing ceremony.

Wow that was amazing, the Russians surely know how to entertain. I especially loved the teddy bear blowing out the torch and the shedding of one tear, pure class. They should get an extra gold for that :)

OMG well spotted, that's quite shocking. You can clearly see the woman who hugs her is on the judging panel and thought the other judge is a woman on the panel that you pointed to.

There should never be a biased judge on the panel, that is disgusting. It is not the athletes fault. The fault lies with whoever is in charge as they should not have allowed that to happen.

I know there is a investigation into this and I believe the Russian gril should be stripped of the gold and given silver instead. It would be very unfortunate for her as I said its not her fault But if the decision stands, which I believe it will then that will be very unfair for the South Korean girl.

When we hosted the summer games we never had biased judges to help us win medals, in fact were we penalized a lot of the times. Sometimes I found the decisions to be wrong, but at least we won medals fair and square.

Kick biased judges out of the summer/winter games and we will see a better game.

GBR will still be chit though :D

They already took it :D

Yeap that was amazing , they spent too much money for the Winter Olympics Games and as i know 96% of the budget was from RF( Russian Federation ) . This Olympics games worth as the all before toghether . I had relatives in Krasnodar Region where to Olympic Games were played , and they said that all the infrastruction is new , roads etc etc .People from that region will enjoy this money :)

Hello dear Russophobians,
thank you for your permanent support.

The Russian commentators are openly insulting USA competitors. Here's a cuppla statements according to translators. And it goes on continually. "Ohhhh... heres the one with the crooked legs." "Now we must wait till the fat little boy finishes before..."
The Ruskies have gone out of their way to screw this Olympics up. Just goes to show you how effective you can be when you put your heart in it.

It's funny and sad for me (a usual man from Russia) to read a lot of propaganda and nonsense here and there.
BTW you are often use another words 'BS' in this case and that is the main
difference between us.
Culture.
To my big sorrow for the last 20 years we,Russians, made a big step back
in the cultural direction and became much more mercantile nowadays,
with a little 'help' from our American friends of course.
But that is another story...

So, a big piece of Russian culture during the closing part
was very great and in time. The '5th element' self irony was nice too.

Have i said already that the American judge didn't score the goal
during the USA vs Russia hockey game? No.
Our hockey team lost. No need to make excuses.
And i could said the same if we were 7th or 3d in total.

I'm glad that these Olympic games took place in my native country.
Great infrastructure for sportsmen, kids in the future
and the huge experience.

Do you still want to count the money that were spent on it.
No problem.
That's your life.
And your cultural wealth.

GBR will still be chit though :D

No matter how much rules and ethics the judges are aware of, some will put all of that aside during the moment when it matters the most when they're either paid lot of money from behind or if their ultra nationalism within their hearts kick in. This will apply more in a artistic sport events that's judged based on speculation while not having stable rubric. I've been used to this kind of judging because I used to bboy(breakdance) and in cyphers, judges sometimes will vote in favor of someone who is either their friend or their crew member. So it doesn't really surprise me about it since it's held in Russia ran by Putin who supposedly spent over $50 billion while figure skating is a worldwide sport where ladies figure skating is heavily viewed from all over the world.

Regardless, the decision will stand because Korean Skating Union and Yuna Kim are not even protesting or appealing to overturn the decision. Yuna Kim is retired and done for good. She's happy with the silver and she's been through lot of b.s. pressure from her country. She wanted to retire 2 years ago but her country kept begging and forcing her to dance for the "sake of their country" since she will give opportunity for Korean figure skaters to enter if she keeps entering and winning World Championships and other events, racking up qualifying points for her country. It's the only reason why 3 Korean ladies figure skaters including herself were able to compete in this Olympics event instead of 1. She thought she retired and didn't skate for over a year and a half but had to come back to compete again in 2013. I hope she's retired for good this time and enjoy her life. I can't stand the way Korean sports unions treat their athletes. Thankfully, president will take action and get rid of all the corruption within the country's sports unions so that they can get their heads straight and prepare for 2018 in PyeongChang.

It's sad that I'll miss her and Mao Asada, who is also retiring after this year's World Championship held in Saitama, Japan. I always enjoyed watching their rivalry and their skills competing at the top level.

Yea I was shocked that your 3rd goal didn't stand cos to me that was a goal.

I personally believe that the judges should be of a different nationality from who's playing so it stops accusations of cheating, saying that tho you could get a judge who cheats the results as he/she has put money on a certain country to win lol.

GBR was unlucky on the short track with Elise Christie, she was disqualified 3 times in her 3 events. The first one I would say yes she fell and knocked one of the skaters down, the second one was a bit harsh she got a did not finish when she had a photo finish, but it turned out she just missed crossing the line because she was just outside the line, not by much though. The third one was a disgrace she was knocked down by another skater and was penalized for it, she did nothing wrong that time, so the decision was wrong. I felt so sorry for her.

I would like to say congrats to Russia for topping the medal charts, I watched their last event which they got gold for the 4 man bobsleigh, Alexandr Zubkov wasn't planning on going to Sochi but Vladimir Putin had asked him to forget his retirement and to take part, bet he is glad he listened to him as he owned that event.

Never been to Russia but I would of loved to been there at Sochi. I tried to learn Russian when I was working with this Ukrainian women a few years ago and after she left I stopped studying it. I got back into it when the winter games started and really enjoyed learning it. I just love learning languages and I don't think you can get any harder than learning Russian and German, I wont master it but I will do it :D

I really liked watching this Olympics. It's too bad a few USA teams (speedskating) did awful, but I was very entertained by the Sochi Games, and I'm looking forward to the Olympics in Rio in 2 years!
