my auto shove with the Lions seems to be profitable long term :) very few bad beats, another glorious win

You've already been warned about talking about this if you don't post your bet first --- which you did not. Again. I will be reporting.

I forgot to post it beforehand but im pretty sure its clear that the Lions are the only team I bet on, If you don't get that then well, yeah...
Oh and so beforehand, let me just say that I will bet on the Lions for the rest of my life, just as I have so far in my existance :) and betting on any other team will be a special additional bet but is never guaranteed, So with this post I officially declare that I am betting on the Lions for life

No one will ever believe you if you don't post you wager --- including amount and point spread (or money line odds) --- before the game starts. So do that, or no celebrating here. Period.

You've already been warned. I recommended a temporary ban, but you'll probably just get another warning.

This isn't an NFL fan page. It's a BETTING thread. You don't post any wagers. You just root for the Lions and then, after the game is over, talk about how much (Monopoly) money you've won.

If you want to root for the Lions, a Lions' Fans thread would be appropriate.

Thanks.

Temporarily banning someone over posting about a win on a bet that they may or may not have made would be absolutely ludicrous. You don't get to call those shots, and you do not get to dictate to the mods what our course of action should be.

I get that this guy annoys you; hell, he annoys a lot of people. But truth be told, in this thread, you're getting your hackles up for a lot of nothing. If there were bets between members, where actual money was changing hands between members, with someone holding escrow, etc., etc., then yeah, there would be a problem. But this thread is just people talking about their NFL bets, asking about what would be the best type of bet, who they should bet on, etc. So, who cares if he actually bet on the Lions and made a ton of money or not? Who cares?? And if he really bothers you that bad, then I suggest you go to your UserCP and put him on your ignore list, and stop wasting our time with ridiculous stuff like this.

I don't know if anyone has told you "Thank You" for all you do for this forum lately, but I'm sure you don't hear it enough.

Thank you.

Now do a dance for some high(er) scoring MNF. Need more than 34 points total for my last parlay this week to bink me another $70!!

Miami seems like a lock tonight to beat the Bucs. Does anyone have any thoughts otherwise?

Sure glad I don't have any money on this game - TB up 15-0 and it's still earlyish in the second quarter. Still a good chance they'll fall to pieces like they did last week though.

Plays I like this week are:

IND -3 v Ten
PHI -3.5 v Wash
OAK +7 @ HOU

I'll do up to $5 bets w/ anyone if they want.

I'm taking Indi -2.5 today, either because I didn't learn my lesson about road favourites last week, or I just can't respect a team that lost to Jacksonville last week...

I would not be very confident in the Indy pick @ Tennessee. They did just lose to Jacksonville, however Indy did lose to St. Louis. This game will not be an easy one for the struggling colts. I would be confident in the over!

Indi prevail by just enough to beat the -2.5 spread. Gotta find some time to work out Sunday's bets now :)

Chiefs +7.5 vs Broncos?

Being that the game is going to be played in Denver I would probably go with the Broncos, but I don't know, it could easily go either way.

I'd rather have the Broncos, the Chiefs are a total fraud. I think the 7.5 spread is about right, so I'd probably rather bet the moneyline. But I'm not backing that Chiefs team.

The Chiefs are a fraud based on what? If you're going to make that claim based their weak schedule, please take a good look at Denver's schedule first. KC and Denver are 1-2 in easiest schedules in the NFL so far. So if you were going to talk about KC's schedule as the reason they're a fraud, please find something else to support your claim.

KC has an elite defense, and elite RB, and a QB that doesn't turn it over. They also have an elite pass rush --- in this case against a gimpy Manning. They can absolutely keep this game close.

The #1 team vs. the #15 team. For starters....
http://massey-peabody.com/nfl-2013-current-power-rankings/

2ndly, the KC Chiefs have a negative yards per play differential at -0.3 yards per play. So yeah, they allow more yards than they gain themselves. Not a great indicator of success. Hell the great defense you mention is only 12th in yards per play against.

People are letting the record they have cloud their judgement. You think Tim Tebow is a great NFL quarterback too?

I am with Vegas on KC being overrated, but is Denver not overrated as well? Neither team has beat anybody over .500

I feel like Denver is the better team, but I don't feel comfortable laying the points. IMO, there is a lot better lines to play today than KC/Denver.

The power rankings that you linked to are completely arbitrary. I can find just as many power rankings that have both teams in the top four as I can that have Denver #1 and KC in the teens. Furthermore, IMO, Denver's stats are exaggerated because they've yet to call of the dogs in games in which they held big/huge leads --- thereby inflating their offensive rankings.

If Andy Reid doesn't overthink this (and he might, because he was an idiot in his time in Philly), I think KC can control the clock by running it down Denver's throat. If they do that, win the turnover battle, and avoid big plays on defense then they can hang with Denver. If they fall behind early, though, they are doomed, as they are not the kind of team that can make up a big deficit.

You can take whichever side you want in this game but, traditionally, betting 7 pt+ favorites in the NFL is not the way to beat the books. Good luck.
