Chelsea change their manager ever other year on average and it seems to work ok for them. If anything they seem to rely on that new manager bounce every season.
Real Madrid have been pretty trigger happy in the past too and it's not done them any harm.
After having the same guy in charge for 26 years, though, you want to keep that continuity going and have some stability and identity, which you can't have if constantly changing the manager, coaching staff and DOF
