While we know that Lebron James is breaking many records in the NBA is necessary to compare it with Michael Jordan? What I'm saying is that there is no point of comparison when we know that at the time of Jordan the league was more defensive much more physical and strong than it is now, Lebron James is in good time but I do not think he will do the same if he were in Air Jordan times

Nobody is better than MJ, Lebron is very good and surely the second best in history but it will never be better than Jordan

I think you can't compare these players. But I like Jordan more.

The debate should be done when LBJ is retired as he still has a ways to go in his career.

I disagree with your last point LBJ is bigger, stronger and faster than MJ the physical game would suited him more than the new finesse game.. He would have dominated in any era he played in just like MJ would.

Competition was much less than it is now LBJ would have probably have more rings if he played back then. No Spurs, no big 3 in Boston, no GSW.

LBJ has 3 rings and to get them he had to beat OKC with 3 future MVP, Spurs the most successful team in the last 20 years with the best coach of the era, GSW who happened to win the most games (73-9) in a season that season.

Hey Joe!

I disagree, when Jordan played arbitration it was less delicate to say it in some way, the rules changed and now the players let him play with more freedom, I do not think Lebron can withstand the blows of the Pistons of that time, you mention the strong teams at the moment but remember that when Jordan played there were players like Magic Johnson Larry Bird Isaiah Thomas Olajuwon Ewin Barkley Kemp David Robinson Mutombo Malone Stockton Payton and other elite players. The game changed a lot now there are more scorers less defensive.

Michael Jordan is the best basketball player ! for one very important reason: during his time I watched basketball and even played a little, and now I do not follow.

Who says that is probably because you never saw Jordan playing...

Michael Jordan was the best of all times.

Who or what is better?

A correct decision given circumstances?
or a favorable personality given spectatorship and public opinion?

Yes, but look at LeBron teammates. He played with D-Wade and Bosh in Miami and with Irving and Love in Cavs. He joined to great team in poor east. Now, he play for LA and they've a little chance to advanced to west finals.

The East was never poor he made it look that way. There were some great teams that broke up because they could not beat him, Boston big 3, D Rose and the Bulls, The Pacers team with George and Granger, the 60 win Hawks team, the Raptor team these past 3 years.

He dragged 2 Cavs lottery teams to the finals 2007 and last year. MJ never made a final without Scottie playing at all star level. When MJ retired after the first 3peat the Bulls without him won 55 games and was the 2 seed look at the Cavs this year they are the worst team in basketball. The 4 years he was in Miami they won the lottery 3 out of the 4 years.

Interesting enough now that he has gone out West the East looks a lot stronger. By next year they will be calling it the Weak West conference.

Outside of GSW who is beating him in the West this year?

No way, Lebron couldnt play in Jordan era like he plays now.
Like Kyrie Irving said: "I think not a lot of defense is being played,” Teams are scoring like it’s the 1960s or ’70s. It’s 132 to 112, 142 to 121. There’s no defense. There’s just none. We got into a Utah-Boston game and it’s [98-86] and you can see the difference in effort in every single night, which I get from an NBA player’s standpoint, the amount of games we play, but sometimes you have to make guys miss.“We’re all NBA players and if you see an open look at the rim, I’m pretty sure we’re going to knock it down over 50 percent of the time if it’s wide open. More or less no defense and effort. That’s what it comes down to; nobody should be scoring that many points.”
I totally agree with Irving.

I simply don't understand the comparison.
Like apples versus oranges.
They both served their teams in different capacities.

As much as Lebron is great, MJ is the best all around player all the time.

I totally agree with you! I played basketball when I was young and obviously my idol was MJ! Currently Lebron has done better as results but Jordan remains inimitable!

Id love to see Lebron play better defense but the reality is, he serves his team with his energy doing other things.

Magic Johnson is a great player, but I don't see anyone comparing Jordan to him.
In terms of a Jordan prototype, the only thing that comes close is Kobe.
Anyone want to talk about chips, then tell me how great is Bill!

No no and no.

LJ will never be better than Michael Jordan. He might have better career stats but if you're taking one guy with your life on the line to win a game or a series, it's MJ

Ok, we can't compares James and Jordan, 2 kinds of game styles so, nothing to compares.
BUT,
Is possible that Lebron James takes GOAT title?
I think NOT, is not possible, Jordan is and will be the GOAT.

Good luck to James :D

Lebron James is the more complete defensive player, better passer, better shooter, and he is bigger, and stronger than MJ.
And HE IS CLUTCH!
It was more different in the 80s. MJ would have a very hard time playing in 2018.
