Brazil played very bad today, Neymar was not very well, got lucky that Chile could not convert the chances created into goals, but the important thing was that the job was accomplished for us in the shootout. Now, we expect the opponent (Colombia or Uruguay) to play the quarterfinals (07/04).

I root for brasil (and Nederland), but I think this play wont be enough against Columbia. Columbia is a much better team than chile. They are very young, fast and skilled.
The problem is that Brasil have unreliable defense and there is only Neymar skilled enough as a striker.
I dont know Fred and Hulk but they dont seem to be n1 players...

Was rooting for Chile (esp in the penalties) and with Colombia looking so good Brasil will really have to step it up a gear - and will Hulk find where the goal is?

As much as it kills me to admit it, I'm afraid we have taken it as far as we can this WC. 0-2 Belgium for me.

Some situations can happen in this game: Brazil knows who played very badly and must change attitude for the game with Colombia, which in turn can feel the pressure of never having come so far in a World Cup.

Although it'll be extremely hard, I really hope they beat Netherlands because I just love the thrill of watching the underdog beating the favorites. I will still be happy if they beat Netherlands although I picked Netherlands as semifinalists.
Even though Netherlands is one of my favorites to reach the finals, Germany being the other one, I would be happy if Costa Rica proves me wrong and beat them. I've been proven wrong in this World Cup and it's the greatest thing about this World Cup. My prediction(wish) for semifinalists are United States, Netherlands, Germany, Colombia.

Although Mexico played well, I just feel that first 70 minutes of the game, Netherlands was having a rough time. It feels as if they didn't warm up or something. I didn't see or feel the Netherlands that I've known of of how they usually play. But they eventually got their skills back together and eventually came back to tie, and then win. One thing I don't understand is, why did Netherlands switch a player within first 5 minutes of the game.

He is injured, on his leg, muscle problem.
but he is X factor, I vote yes on his early switch, cos bad record for his defense style.

Netherlands first actually 85 minuts did not play well, think partly because of hot weather, could not imagine that it is Winter in Brazil but the air temperature is 104 F high.

And first time see offical break during the first half of the match by referee.

Placed a bet on Mexico (11-4) at half time because i thought the heat would get to the Dutch - then Mexic scored arty: .
Then Robben started charging into the box and 'anything' can happen then - so i cashed out early and they equalised (phew) - and then he finally did it and flew up into the air, triple tuck dive and got the penalty.


Costa Rica - small bet on them (9-5), Greece were too defensive before and i figured they wouldn't change (they hadn't 3 years) but they did - doh!

Costa Rica scored - i cashed out again and Greece squeezed a draw - only to lose n penalties.

So a profit, and a bet on Colombia at 12-1 to win overall

Netherlands pulled off an unbelievable win.. that goal by Sneijder was just awesome.. i mean truly one of the best goals i have seen in this WC.

Quality wins over Defence. Mexico defended their goal for 88 minutes. but in those last 4-6 minutes Netherlands showed their class.

The heat was the biggest factor in this match.. thank god there won't be as much heat in the QF onwards since matches are 5pm ish their time. as compared to 12-1pm ish in this match.

I think Mexico had the better of it during first half, although Netherlands should have had a penalty kick.
I mean, looking at the replay it's clear Robben wasn't hit only 1 time, but even 2 times in a row....definitely should have been a penalty kick.
2 nd half Mexico scored a good goal, but after that, as expected, Netherlands more and more took initiative.
Main question to me while watching was if Mexico could hold or not.
After 1-1 I was pretty sure Netherlands was gonna take it down, although I'm really not sure giving the penalty kick was the right decision.
Only 1 can win and being Dutch I'm glad it's the Netherlands who did, but Mexico proved to have a great team and for sure was a very tough opponent.
