I live near Austin and wAS enthralled with this event. I am not a race fan, have never been to a race. But this was special. Our city built this track in 30 months against all odds. It was international success. Visitors praised the friendliness of Austinites, the venue, the food, and the side events. Hurry back next year.

Holy crap that was a great race!

As a Ferrari fan I'm hugely disappointed that Alonso didn't win the title, but it was always going to be a long shot. Vettel and Red Bull definitely deserved the championship. Here's hoping Ferrari come back with a better car next season!

Both Vettel and Alonso were 'run into' in the latter part of the season. Finding himself at the back of the field, Vettel drove two superb races and made his way up to respectable finishes in the last two races. Alonso didn't get the chance to do that at Belguim and Japan (?) when early incidents put him out of the race completely. And that is where he lost the championship.
Best Car won!
Best Driver second!

Well said, t1tpfdc.

I can't be too disappointing, seeing as Vettel did deserve and definitely earned that win, but I would have been very, very happy if Alonso had taken it.

Luckily Schumacher letting Vettel passed made no difference to the outcome in the end, or otherwise I would be using Vettel's and Schumacher's images as dartboards.

Just imagine how much Alonso would dominate a season if he was in a decent car.

No need to imagine really - just look back at his '05/'06 seasons with Renault ;) They weren't Schumi-esque domininations but he was very, very convincing.

And yeah, the fact that he even managed to get second in the championship in a car that was clearly at best the third-best in the field says a lot about him. Bring on 2013 :)

What has codemasters done in the last 10 years?
The tracks have changed but the graphics and vehicle dynamics were exceptional 10 years ago, but those dirextx8 graphics are rather dated today.

Pretty sure they only rebooted the F1 gaming franchise in 2010 - I haven't bothered to buy the 2011 and 2012 versions because to be honest the 2010 one was so dull I couldn't even bring myself to finish a full season, but I thought its major problems were in the UI and not the graphics or car handling...

I watched the 2012 YouTube that Some Guy posted,
and it just looked the same as TOCA2 running on windows98 a decade earlier.
