I know that this competion is still in the very early stages with new season(as groupstage will be drawn in the last few days in august) but as first qualifying round was drawn today then i guess it's probably better to open this thread now so we'd have better chance to see whether any club starting from first qualifying round manages to do unthinkable and actually reach CL groupstage

it is really too early to make predictions on these teams, maybe someone will get into the group stage of the Champions League. but much will depend on the lot. and transfers can strengthen or weaken teams. for me it is very difficult ).

Ajax was a welcome surprise in the last edition but I came from the future to say that Manchester City will win the next.

Of this 2 matches:
Suduva (LTU) vs Crvena Zvezda (SRB)

Valur Reykjavik (ISL) vs Maribor (SVN)

I think away teams are better, maybe Asian handicaps for guests?

Maribor and Crvena Zvezda are indeed stronger but this will be their first official game of the new season so these 2 are miles away from perfect condition compared to their hosts as Suduva and Valur have played leaguegames every week ...

Usually in these CL and EL qualifying rounds i've 3 strategies which is use to make bets every year  ...
1. When two teams who go h2h one has played leaguegames every week and for the other it's first official game of the season i usually go with team 1 and choosing their handicap and that despite whether they are playing at home or away cause they're in much better shape and even when they face giant perhaps they can still avoid humiliation ;)
2. As these qualifying rounds are two-legged then it's quite obvious to have closer look on games which stayed goalless in first leg - so assuming neither team wants to play 120 minutes it's fine to expect goals in these matches so in that theory BTTS, over 2.5 and over 2 goals usually work.
3. Bet against all estonian clubs. Yeah sometimes our team can surprise by not losing their games or even knocking some team out but usually they are the ones who get the early exit :D

I guess first (real) surprise in these early rounds is reality now cause Shkendija lost at home to Kalju 1:2 and went out on awaygoals so this only means one thing: Celtic is finally coming to Tallinn

So first qualifying round is officially over now and i'd say there were 3 surprises:
1. Our defending champion Kalju knocking out Macedonian champions
2. Ludogorets who played in CL groupstage 3 years were also eliminated ...
3. ... aswell as Astana who also played recently in CL groupstage so i guess it's relief for many top teams knowing they don't have to take ~ 10h flight to Kazakhstan ...

Second qualifying round(if anyone is intrested):

Cluj(ROU) vs Maccabi Tel Aviv (ISR)
BATE(BLR) vs Rosenborg(NOR)
The New Saints(WAL) vs København(DEN)
Ferencvaros(HUN) vs Valletta(MLT)
Dundalk(IRL) vs Qarabag(AZE)

Saburtalo(GEO) vs Dinamo Zagreb(CRO)
Celtic(SCO) vs Nõmme Kalju(EST)
Crvena Zvezda(SRB) vs HJK Helsinki(FIN)
Sutjeska(MNE) vs APOEL (CYP)
Maribor(SVN) vs AIK(SWE)

Looks like Maribor and AIK who'd have enough quality to reach CL/EL groupstage have luxury to try knock eachother out while in most of the other pairs there's 1 team who is (clear) favourite to go to the next round.

I completely agree )
Manchester City had a wonderful year. I expect big victories from them, I will especially watch O. Zinchenko

I would say that Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool have strong possibilities to do something good this season at the Champions League.

I think that Guardiola's team is the major favourite to go to the final, but we will see.....

Krasnodar bulls are a favorite in this Champions League, but seriously, we have not yet seen the team in action and it is too early to say who will win Juventus or Barcelona, this game can be anything. I believe that such topics should involve more reasoned discussions, and not messages like those that are higher in the topic.

it is time to win the eared cup to the best coach in the world Guardiola. His team sets records in the championship, proved everything to everyone, but not everything works out in the Champions League. Pepe has to solve the problem

Pep Guardiola already has a few cups in the collection, the road is young, but seriously, of course, there is every chance but there is one cup and there are a lot of pretenders.

It became really hard to love UEFA competitions nowadays... In almost every big match the key figure is a referee...
