Your loss. Recognising that this is the fight business and not an ordinary rigidly-structured sporting league makes life a lot more fun and results in a lot less gnashing of teeth over things like who should or shouldn't fight who next though
As for the UFC not getting in the way of McGregor fighting Mayweather as long as they get their cut, arguing over what their cut will be is them getting in the way of that fight. I'm not saying they're wrong to do it, McGregor is under contract with them after all. But it's got the potential to hold things up for a long time.
Yeah if it were to happen there's a good chance it'd be an incredibly boring fight.
I believe an early McGregor KO is a possibility - Mayweather is pushing 40 years old, and we know that everyone's chin goes eventually. Plus McGregor would likely be the bigger fighter (small height and reach advantages, plus boxing welterweight, where Mayweather has fought most of his career, is equivalent to MMA featherweight and McGregor is big for that division).
Much more likely though is Mayweather dancing around, McGregor gassing out somewhere before the middle of the fight, and the public complaining about another "boring" fight like the Pacquiao one en route to a Mayweather decision win.
But they'll have the money in the bank by then, so what will they care
