I used to love the UFC... now it seems more like the WWE than a legitimate fighting sport.

Like boxing, which is more serious than ever, I guess?

Actually, you are partially correct. The UFC has taken some tips from WWE in their promotions of fights, and that's unfortunate. But the fights themselves are better than they've ever been, IMO. The quality of the fighters have been getting better over time.

Maybe you just need to jump into the ring with some of them so you can get a more hands on feel for how real it is... or isn't.

Anyone watched the Ben Askren vs Jake Paul fight?

I expected Askren to lose, because he's one of the worst strikers I've ever seen in MMA, but not that bad, it was horrible. It looked so bad that it seemed like he wanted to lose as fast as possible so he could go home with the money he "earned" for that fight.

And in case anyone is wondering... No, I did not pay a penny to watch that fight. And I knew it was going to be a bad fight but that reached a new level of bad.

Back to the UFC, Whittaker looked amazing, better than ever. I truely enjoyed watching it.

Next saturday should be a great night of fights. Can't wait.

Had a nice parlay win in last night's UFC fights.

I had Magny, Morono & Rodriguez
$50 @ 8.35 odds ($417.60)

I bet on each of them individually as well. The wins were nice as I'd taken a hit on the last couple UFC events.

What a shame Michelle didn't win so you could have win big!
But honestly, I would have been very surprised if she would have beaten Marina Rodriguez. She is really good. Was excited for this fight and I was definitely not disappointed. Great fight.

Glad you did. :top:

Watched UFC 262 main card (I'm yet to watch the undercard).

Edson Barboza vs Burgos was amazing! Was everything I hoped it would be and then some more.

Araujo vs Chookagian was close. First round clearly for Araujo and third for Chookagian. I saw Araujo winning the second as well, but the decision went for Chookagian.

Now, the reason I mention this fight is one judge scored it 30-27 Chookagian. He should be fire! I'm so tire of watching big mistakes like this happen all too often.

Main event was amazing as well. Got watery eyes TBH after Oliveira won. I wanted him to win so bad. Been a fan of him forever. Hope he remains the champion for a while.

Yah there was some judging like that in the pre-lims too.. 30-27 29-28 27-30 (Lando Vannata vs Mike Grundy).

Yah I'm glad Oliveira won as well.
Unfortunately I had picked Araujo in that fight (which makes the judge's decision that much more annoying).
But... I had some fortunate picks this weekend too... ie. I bet on Muniz over Souza (that broken arm was nasty!... yikes!).. also had Jordan Wright, & Barboza.

I didn't watch the pay per view this time around though.

ferguson is done needs to hang it up
I don't know about that, TBH. I think he was given too much praise before and now too little because of his 3 loses in a row.

I think part of what's happening is people have figured out how to fight against him, because he has an unusual, unconventional style that can mess with his opponents'.

Also, his lost against Gaethje was massive, terrible. That fight should have been stopped early, and there were a few moments (not just one) where the referee could have stopped it and didn't. He should have taken a year off from fighting, at the very least, but fought again only like six months after, which was crazy. He wasn't ready. And fought against Oliveira. C'mon! That guy is a beast!

And Dariush has always been a great fighter and he only had gotten better over time, so Ferguson faced some very tough opponents lately.

Goooooo Dustin!!!

Too bad about how it ended... I would've preferred to see Dustin bash Connor's head in off of the canvas for another 4 or 5 mins.

Conor should have kept his mouth shut at the end of the fight, when he was on the canvas with his broken leg. Absolutely horrible everything he said. What a terrible human being.

Hope Conor heals properly and comes back to fight Dustin again and sufferes a massive knockout.

One thing I have to say though, Conor is tough as hell. He fractured his leg and you wouldn't know by his attitude.

Watched last nights UFC fights, UFC 265, and something called my attention: if I had decided to bet on a parley of the main card, I would have won (not that I have ever done that, but just saying :)).

BTW, Jose Aldo looked great! That made me happy. :)

And even though I expected Vicente Luque to win, didn't expect that kind of win from him. That was amazing.

some amazing fights tonight!!!

I was hoping for more from Diaz but I guess what can you expect... he's been smoking pot for years :( He was one of my all-time faves.

Ortega put on a great fight tonight. Wow! I actually bet on him to win but mostly because I got some great odds. It sure was close!

Indeed, great night of fights!

I was hoping for more from Diaz but I guess what can you expect... he's been smoking pot for years :( He was one of my all-time faves.
His fight was better than I expected, a lot better TBH. I didn't think he was going to be able to put on a show after so much time out of the ring and the activities he likes to engage in that you mentioned. And also, Lawler looked better than he had in a very long time.

Ortega put on a great fight tonight. Wow! I actually bet on him to win but mostly because I got some great odds. It sure was close!
I had a small freebet that used on Ortega. :( But, it was a great fight as well.

Wow! He pulls it off??? Judges must've been awarding him extra points for the amazing groin strikes! TYVM judges & I promise to never bet on Trinaldo again!

And now if I can just get Alex Caceres to lose... I'm cashing on a nice parlay.

Oh... noooooo... he takes a knee to the head while on the ground :(
