What does everyone think of the outcome for the Cerrone/Ferguson fight. I think it should of been called a no-contest.

I missed the fight. What happened? (links if it's too long to describe please).

I had a crazy weekend, borrowed a truck to go 8hrs. away to pick up an 'e-trike' (a 'deal'!!!)... then the truck broke down ~6hrs. from home with a wife who cannot walk & two dogs, in pouring rain. It took me two days to get home and the truck is still up there :(
I think I would've rather taken a couple of overhand rights to the jaw from Andre Orlowski.

Rory is back. It's always satisfying to watch a Gracie getting shut down on the ground.

Ferguson hit Cerrone with a very hard late shot to his already battered nose. Cerrone then blew his nose before the next round could start causing his eye to swell very quickly. The fight was stopped and ruled a win for Ferguson.

The ref determined the reason for the blown up eye was because Cerrone own actions of blowing his nose.

I actually agree with the ref. If you have a chance to watch that fight again, you'll notice Cerrone's eye closed immediately after blowing his nose. Same thing happened to Eddie Alvarez not too long ago. It was Cerrone's fault, not Tony's late punch. Now, that punch pi**ed me off, it was pretty late. But, to his credit, Tony looked quite ashamed and angry at himself for having done that.

The punch was late, I don't believe it was intentional. I believe it was just his reflexes.

I 100% agree that Cerrone's eye exploded after he blew it (and he should have known not to do that) BUT ...... that late Punch was a very hard one and it contributed to the state of Cerrone's nose. Who knows maybe Cerrone wouldn't of blown his nose if that hard late punch didn't land.

In short: The late punch contributed to the reason of why the fight was stopped. I feel as a DQ is too strong and unfair and I feel as a loss on Cerrone's record is also unfair. A no-contest seems about right to me in this situation.

Oh! I see where you're coming from and I hadn't thought of that. You have a point in favor of a no contest, and this is one of those things where you don't know what the future would have been like if this or that wouldn't have happened: who knows if he hadn't receive that punch would he had blown his nose.

I think in this situation no justice will be served no matter the final decision. Even a no contest feels kind of like stealing the fight from Tony after such a dominate second round. Such a shame, the fight was great up to that point. Hopefully they'll get a chance to fight again.

Anyone watch the bare knuckle fight that was on last night?

Paul Malignaggi vs. Artem Lobov (Conor Training Partner)

More like "Conor's punching bag".

I Mean, good for Artem, he seems like a nice guy but Bare Knuckle fight is not a place for high level fighters.

The guy has a negative mma record FFS.

Great fights on Saturday the 22nd. I had some pretty good seats. If it weren't for that pesky fence in the way. lol
Four and a half hour drive. Well worth the trip.

Sure but he is entertaining and was boxing vs a two time world champion. It was a great win for Artem.

Rumor has it The two time world boxer got paid 7 figures for that event. I have no clue what Artem got paid but it was likely not much.

Yeah he way over swung on that overhand, seemed like he may have been trying to match the power of Nganou, but I'm not sure anyone in the world can do that.

What a great night of fights!!!!
Yadong looked amazing and Chiesa looked huge at 170 and very smooth.
So many KOs that could be KO of the night.

Exciting night of fights :)

Jones vs Santos 2 will be great.

Masvidal's massive knockout was the fastest in UFC history at 5 seconds.

Amanda Nunes' Knockout further cements her in history as the greatest woman fighter ever.

Is that the last we see of Luke Rockhold?

It was just his 1st fight at 205 and he looked good on the outside, I think he underestimated Jan’s grappling. Jan is very strong in the clinch and you could see that he was less fatigued than Luke after they clinched. I thought that this was a bad match up for Luke’s first fight at 205. Also it looked like Luke put on too much muscle for this fight, which defeats the purpose of moving up. I did not expect Jan to KO Luke but it was an exciting start to a very nice parlay I won.

Man Santos is beyond tough, he tore every ligament in his as well as the meniscus and fought 4 full rounds. On top of just making it through the fight he also made it very close. I can’t wait until he’s healthy and gets the rematch.

Nice, congrats on the win.
Thanks. It could have been better but I didn’t think to bet Masvidal by KO/TKO till 30s after I placed the bet but it’s hard to complain. Also if Party had odds for all the fights I would have added Gadelha.

Santos fought really great, especially considering his injury. Honestly, to me he won the fight. Especifically rounds 1, 2 and 5. I thought the fight was going to be decided on the 2nd round, thinking all judges had rounds 1 and 5 for Santos and 3 and 4 for Jones. The 2nd round Santos looked a bit better except if you consider Santos going down due to the kick and not the knee injury (which was the case).

I looked at the judges scorecards and to my surprise, although I shouldn't be surprised at this point anymore, two of the judges had Santos winning the 4th round and Jones the 5th.

Now, regarding Luke's fight, I think he should go back to 185. He looked too big, slow and got tired really fast. He looked way better at 185.

Yeah, I thought the same as you 1,2 and 5 Santos but the 2nd was a very close round and I didn’t expect any of the judges to give it to Santos. Though when Buffer was reading the decision and it was split I did think he might get it because he definitely deserved to win but I think a lot of judges favour champs on the cards especially in close fights.
