I'd like to try the
wsop jackpot satellites, so I hope those are coming back this year (and hopefully for Mac but that's a different question and thanks for your above estimate on that too).
I know from last year you ended up giving the full WSOP package in cash, which I must admit is best for a player like me who can't go to WSOP, but I did actually like your withhold $1k policy to actually encourage people to play the WSOP. With that said, I hope you do give the full dollar amount like you ended up doing last year. As an aside, do you have any statistics as to how many WSOP satellite winners actually buy into the Main?
For all of the online satellites, what happens if you win more than one seat? The first seat you win is must play, right? (sorry that these are repeat questions but just want to 100% confirm)
On the topic of satellites, there is a really fun format that I've only heard of happening live: survivor tournaments. Basically they work with satellites but just award cash, not a seat or ticket. For example, at the PCA I think they had a $10k buyin $100k survivor event, so the top 10% of the field cashed for $100k exactly and the rest got nothing (except I guess for the person who bubbled got the remaining money, however much it was). I think the top 10% cash format is good, but could be whatever. Not sure how late reg works in this exactly, but I think the live events have had it to an extent but probably couldn't be as long as the typical MTT late reg where half the field is missing already by the end.
I think the survivor format would be good for ACR as an innovation that no one else has, like the Cage. Could be run at $1-->$10, $10-->$100, and $100-->$1000 buyins as a special event and develop from there. I think it's a really interesting format because ICM considerations are very strong, especially late. Basically the same ICM as those in satellites but without having to play in any target event. Also these events would be shorter than a full tournament so good for players with limited time. Could be done deepstack, turbo, hyper whatever.
Packing all my latest requests into one post, how about some fixed limit tournaments. I saw looking at an old OSS schedule that you've previously had at least a FLHE tournament, so you must have the capability to do so. It might be good to have a Daily $27 FLHE and a Weekly $82 like
pokerstars, or at least something along those lines. I'd definitely take a shot at those even though I don't really even know how to play (I'm currently learning). Can't hurt to try with no guarantee to start.
Thanks for reading!
