I returned to ACR last week, after not playing for a year. Every single time I have registered in tournaments, they have had the attacks. How long has this been going on. It is not worth playing there if this is the norm.

This isn't the norm but right now I would be hesitant about playing there until they get the site running for a few days with ZERO problems.

They will refund you but if I was chip lead late with a good shot at winning I wouldn't be satisfied with ICM refund.

I only play micros so I'm not risking much but today marks one week they have been having troubles. Hopefully it gets worked out so we all can enjoy some poker.

I guess I will hold off on playing until they get it figured out. Another site makes me enter username and password every time. (as opposed to auto login). I wonder if that would minimize the DDOS attacks? But I am not a computer guy.

Same problem on Blackchip I guess. I can't get to a logon screen. Guess I'll try
again later. I really hope they can get a fix. I need a poker fix myself. I see the thread
on DDOS.

ACR is down again. I was up and doing well on a cash table, when it happened. I know now to grab screenshots in case the money does not get credited. But it always has been credited, so ACR is all good on that point.

Yeppers. BCP is same network as ACR. This thread should be titled Official WPN Thread to avoid the confusion it may cause.

I agree with those who say this has all the fingerprints of a coordinated government attack against "unregulated" poker sites allowing US players to participate. Just the kind of thing Trump and his "justice" department have pulled against others they do not like. I don't expect we'll ever get ACR, BCP, etc back until there's a govenment shakeup/regime change. Dark, dark days.

I have been suspecting that might be the case. On another site I play on, never had problems until attacks last month. When I read it was widespread at different sites I figured it might be the good ole government. I guess they think that it is a good way to spend tax dollars.

The US Government is one theory. Rival sites is one theory. Holding sites for ransom is a plausible theory. My theory is we, the people, just do not know.

I do know that ACR gets these types of attacks twice a year. People bitch, whine, point fingers, etc. ACR works the problem out. People start whining about the RNG, new accounts, and some other gripe because nothing better to do until the next DDoS attack.

Rinse. Repeat.

My favorite line from Battlestar Galactica is "All of this has happened before. And all of this will happen again."

About seven minutes after you posted, they were cancelled. Plus the Cashier is down as well.

That is plausible. What about the other two ignition and Interops?

From April 24, last Tuesday when the DDoS attacks started there were 21 scheduled CC sponsored games calendared until yesterday Monday, April 30.

Most US players were automatically precluded from 10, additionally 8 were ACR / BCP. 3 games, 8.5% were available for me to play, and a 4th game I played was a PS home game for the League. I'm not complaining, I love the forum first and playing the games to me is an added bonus, to connect and compete with y’all on the felt for prizes.

Our hearts have to go out to CC as looking out for our best interest and effectuating a flowing, continuum of competitive games it itself is caught in the grasp of the tumultuous happenings at ACR. CC has been through it all in its evolution over 14 years, and my faith is in its leadership creating a path for its, our future. I appreciate the calm and focus of the CC Administration, trust they have our backs.

We speculate why the site is up partially while under attack. Best way I see it is if you can't plate a meal, you plate the crumbs and don't starve to death.

CC suffers, we suffer, sadly new members inclusive of “we” need to know the great history of CC because they’ve worked hard and some of them unfortunately are precluded from games just after freeroll club initiation. Members playing during the attacks caught up in individual frustrations, feel their pain.

Let’s be mindful of what benefits CC, benefits us. Good energy, calm and think, the answers are all there no matter what happens next.

I'm thinking the target might not be WPN, but rather a distribution point that serves WPN. I make this observation after watching this for a while;

https://www.fireeye.com/cyber-map/threat-map.html

APT pops up while watching that graph, and I'm thinking APT is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_persistent_threat

If so, the solution is obviously to make other arrangements. I don't know how the web is financed, but this would seem to be a simple thing to fix. My semi-educated guess is there are not a lot of ISP options for WPN in Costa Rica. That ISP that WPN may be forced to use would be the entity with connections elsewhere. So WPN connects to the the ISP, which connects to the US which then connects to the rest of the world.

Over the years Costa Rica has been rumored to be a hotbed of corruption. Maybe it's time to get the hell out of Dodge!

All the skins are the same entity. They just market to a different crowd. Don't be fooled.

I had an issue with Black Chip regarding a withdrawal they cancelled. After having already made a successful deposit and withdrawal they said we need to verify your documents. I said that's funny that your asking me now. So I sent them the documents.

Then, I got a friendly email that said, "Your documents have been verified and THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING AMERICAS CARDROOM"

So I said, huh, what, who? ACR? So I emailed them to inquire and they said we are sister companies. So I said then why did I have to send my documents again to which they replied we could have verified them already if we knew you had an account with ACR. What a joke. Must think we are imbeciles.

Point being its all the same gig.

I think the Government has more important things to do than focus on some 3rd rate chump poker site.

More likely disgruntled players that want to expose a site that invests nothing into security. Probably not a coincidence that this is happening shortly after the rampant cheating allegations surfaced.

Heck they can't even invest in 21st century table balancing software. Never in 15 years of online poker during my illustrious 80,000 mtts played career (insert snide face here) have I played in a 6 seat mtt where there were 6 players and you played 3 per table for 15 minutes.
