How is that even possible..? They make millions.
PokerStars has announced that some staff members could lose their jobs at their Isle of Man headquarters, with the company blaming regulatory issues in the online poker landscape as the main contributor to the cuts.

I tried to reply to this in the news section about a week ago Shells but it said i already commented (but i didnt). It also says im logged in as rijckenborg but i have no affiliation to him and i didnt hack his account lol.![]()
I think I know what you mean. Occasionally when maintenance is going on with the CardsChat site, little glitches occur. If at any time you are commenting and submit the same comment and your name does not show you as having commented, please, please let us know!
You should be able to comment as often as you want on any thread (providing it is on topic) so, that must have been another glitch. If this occurs often, let us know that, too.![]()
It is going to very interesting to see if they refocus on Poker Stars...I will not be holding my breath because the rich pickings by multiples will be in the growth of sports betting.
Well, one other thing to bear in mind (though not a direct effect on the Isle of Man staffing) is Poker Stars/Stars Group PLC merging with Flutter Entertainment PLC via a stock/share swap valued at $6 billion.
This is the specific move to consolidate and venture into the US sports betting market.

Shells-
To be honest I do not really understand what Flutter PLC/FanDuel get out of this deal. I am not being deliberately obtuse either. I really do not get it. Why couldn't Flutter PLC have proceeded on their own?
I believe Stars Group was valued at considerably less than $6 billion (I'll stand to be corrected), and yes, this was a stock/share swap. But it hard to see why this is of long term benefit to Flutter PLC, other than the fact that Poker Stars is a known entity within the US. That said, the turnover from poker as an industry is dwarfed by that of sports betting with Poker Stars yet to re-engage in a significant manner back in the US.
Perhaps because I am tight aggressive, a nit at times in poker this bleeds into my view of economics but I simply can't identify the EV in this deal! I get the impression it is not a lot more than wanting to give the impression of being something of a titan, giving the impression of having more 'clout'.

Instead of retrenching the staff they should focus on bringing in more client.
Only bad management retrench employee.
