What do you do while playing online poker?

Multi-Tasking at it's Finest (or Worst depending who you ask)

I know lots will think I am nuts but I do anything and everything while playing poker...

If I am playing on a weekday, since I work from home, I have a second monitor that I play on while I work. Typically, if it is only one or two games running I just work and play simultaneously. If there are 3 or more games that pop up then I take a break from work and focus on all the games. All of this with music blasting in the background.

When I play in the evenings or on weekends it gets a bit more tricky because I am trying to take care of my family (cook, clean, etc) while I am sometimes in a tourney so the laptop just moves around the house with me as I go and I make sure all my notifications are as loud as can be.

I will admit that doesn't always make for the best game play but if I don't find other ways to occupy myself, I get really impatient and make dumb bets/calls.

However, I'm not a complete idiot and if the prize pool is a really good one or I'm close to a paid position I really focus on my table and how everyone else is playing. Once it gets down to a few tables remaining I will open all the other tables to just watch so I can see how they play in case I get moved to their table.

I usually play music, and always have a beer beside me, when I play poker. That's why I bought a beer fridge, put it beside the computer so I don't need to get up, that's how lazy I am. LOL

If you feel like beginning to do something else while playing poker, its usually a sign, that you should consider stopping or taking a prolonged break. If you play cash games, I really see no point in multi tasking. Either add more tables, so you dont feel bored, or stop playing.

With tournaments its a bit more complicated, because you can not just stop. So sometimes I will multitask while waiting for a tournament to finish, especially if its a freeroll or low buyin, that does not really matter to my bankroll. If significant money is at stakes, that tend to keep me so interested, that boredom is never an issue

I do not understand boredom. Perhaps one table playing dynamics may play you emotionally exhausted, but if you play multiple tables or tournaments at the same time is difficult to get bored. For my part not try to do other things when I play poker, it is not beneficial to the game. Listen to good music and all kinds to stay focused.

I usually watch movies, listen to music, or chat with friends on Facebook. It all depends on my mood and on which tournament I play. If I play cash, then I'm less focused, Hold'emManager helps me a lot. Of course, I achieve the best results when I am 100% focused on the game.

While Playing Online

Depends if I am playing at a $ table or in a freeroll tourney such as a Venom tourney, Not to get bored in freeroll games I will usually have the TV on so I don't get bored and start to push with not good cards when I haven't had a good hand in a long time.

At $ tables I usually load up 6 CD's or play my random song list on Spotify. Music is on low so not to distract as I watch others play their hands on a deal I folded on . As well I will take notes on players at $ tables if I am not in the hand for future reference.

Biggest thing I have learned about playing poker over the years is have patience and learn all you can about your opponents

music is the only thing that will not distract you from the game. and good music only inspires) good luck at the tables.

I try to stay focused on how everyone is playing to see how I should play my hand but it can get boring very quickly when in the freerolls there are alot of predictability with the people who always go all in

I watch other poker players on twitch.tv. I find my play is better though if I turn it off and focus 100% on my own game.

Usually, I can turn to a table to get attention for my game, but I've also played two three tables for cash games.
In the event of a loss, I tense, win in the win, and try to play dynamic hands through dynamic play.
