What do you do while playing poker?

I work out while I play.
Jogging and weight lifting.

I subscribe to several podcasts - some are poker related - and I really enjoy listening to them while I play. I occasionally watch TV, but that tends to distract me too much so I avoid it.

Of course, listening to music is great, too. Anything that keeps me occupied but not distracted is positive to my game.

But while your playing you shouldnt be bored as you should be taking notes and concentrating on the players on the table on how they play .. you need top do everything you can to have the edge over your opponents

I do everything at all. When I play poker I can eat, listen music or wathing movie/TV/YourTube, speak on telephone with my friends, do my job, do phisical exersizes and so on... I think that it's one of good sides of poker. Everybody can do several thinds while they playing. Espesially if you play on smartphone or laptop.

It is not smart to have any distractions while playing poker. The only sensible thing to do is have some music playing while playing a poker game or tournament. I have played for many years online and i know that from experience i will quickly lose interest and focus on the table(s) at hand when i am engaged in any other activity other than just playing the game. Music is a nice distraction because it does not require you to pay attention to the song or to interact with it. So i strongly urge anyone that is playing poker, especially at high stakes games, to turn everything off and focus solely on playing the game. There is valuable information in every hand played and you will need all the information you can to become a successful poker player.

Online, I start out with a poker focus, blogs, videos, how to and the progress to watching movies and what not. I tend to shift focus solely to my game about the mid-stage of any torney, or after the extend late reg closes.

Live I focus on the game, table, players and environment.
