If I am in a heads UP and my opponent has a sit out, I would take the advantage. Poker is a shark tank, it's all about survival. I would therefore take every advantage.
It's actually unspoken etiquette in a tournament if a player goes all in and you call him and another player calls after the flop to check to eliminate the player who went all in. However, not every player adheres to this.

Unless you use the chat facility, this issue doesn't really arise. The best I can suggest is to refrain from swearing or insulting other players.
One thing I find annoying are throwables like on pokerstars. I can't for the life of me think what they are about or who came up with the idea, but you can turn them off.
