Of course very few people can make a living from poker. I'm lucky that I only deposited once. And luckily I won something and was able to withdraw what I had deposited. Now I just play with the money I earn.

depending on your attitude towards the game, in any case, poker is a game of chance, and you need to keep your bankroll under control and this is already depending on you and your attitude towards the game

One thing you should know. Poker is a fun game but it should never be a source of income. So don't think you are smart and save your money before you regret it.
Hi, Barakatha! By my private opinion, You are wrong, because if the one's players are losing , this means only one: the other players are wining...
Conclusion: there are players, that making money at the Poker! Look around: the examples are more, than enough...

In principle, the correct statement if you take into account the fact that the player spends his money, but do not forget about free tournaments where you can participate, if you are lucky it will already be and income

This is an old thread and I am constantly surprised to see old threads like this brought back to life when the creator of the thread has not been on cardschat for years. In this case it was Dec 2021!

Poker can be frustrating, if you don't respect it's nature, don't have proper bankroll management and refuse to keep getting better at it. I went through all the above phases, but learned the lesson every time. So today I have no limit to my winnings, but exactly know how much I am willing to lose and it is just rewarding to play the game.

Poker can indeed be a viable way to earn money, but it requires dedication, skill, and a significant investment of time. Unlike traditional jobs, poker's earnings are not guaranteed and can be highly volatile. Success in poker demands a deep understanding of the game's strategies, probability, and psychological elements. Professional players often spend years honing their skills, studying opponents, and learning to manage their bankrolls effectively. Additionally, the ability to handle the emotional ups and downs, known as variance, is crucial. For those who treat it seriously, maintain discipline, and continuously improve their game, poker can provide not just financial rewards but also the flexibility and thrill of a challenging career.

Interesting. I did make some money from poker in the past, but it was a long time ago. Always been dreaming of earning money from poker, but I guess it's very competitive nowadays and the game got tougher.

My money on my poker accounts I see as a score and not having monetary value.
That way I am gutted when it goes down but all I want to do is increase it and not with my own money.
Poker has cost me $40 since I started playing poker online. Which is only +5yrs.
Still playing happily and healthily.
Family first.

Most people will lose money over the long haul, and some will win big. The vast majority of people will lose their money, and only a small number of "select" participants will be able to remain in the long-term profit. At the end of the day, someone who puts in more effort and spends more time improving their game, making rational decisions more often and controlling their emotions, will achieve more than someone who just wants free money.

Poker can be a small source of income if you concentrate on winning satellite tickets or by being very disciplined and stick to freerolls, and of course by benefiting from CardsChat membership!

It is a game subject to gains and losses, but only the one who bets wins, and the difference between poker and other games is that the chances of winning are many and the chances of losing are also many, which is why I prefer tournament games. than cash gamer. Now the question is logical, one thing is to play the game in person, which is expensive, the other thing is to play online, which can be manipulated by robots.

The ability to save money is not as simple a skill as it may seem to us at first glance. No one likes to live frugally, and even more so to save money for tomorrow, money that can be spent today :)
Nevertheless, people who know how to live economically, save money for a rainy day, eventually become well-off people, while others who do not know how to save, are doomed to live paycheck to paycheck. Poker can certainly be a source of income, but the reliability of such a source is quite questionable.

Depends on if you're on the cutting edge of research, math, stats, and tech. If you're not pushing one of these boundaries... you will lose over time.
