Hello.
For me, poker is a hobby, not a source of income. I think poker can only be a source of income for professional players. But while poker is a hobby for me, my hobby still brings me income.

Only a small per cent of players make a 'notable' income. The majority of players lose.

However that does not mean even those playing mostly free rolls , if exercising bank roll management, cannot earn 'income'.

There is no rule in poker saying anyone has to play high stakes and invest heavily but there are those that play the lowest stakes and enjoy taking their poker seriously....and technically generate an income.

I disagree about making poker a source of income. There are many people who have made poker their primary source of income. It might not happen for everybody, but there are those dedicated to the game that profit from week to week. I personally play for fun and will never make more than a job or my retirement. That being said there have been many weekends I came home from the casino with multiple thousands of dollars playing grinding cash games. It may not have been a "primary" source, but it definitely has padded my wallet in times of need. I will stick to playing live for the big strike and play for the enjoyment of tournament play in the comfort of my home.

Although they are in the minority, some people make a great living from making money at poker. We who are not that level, can at least be so wise not to waste money competing with those much better than ourselves. Let’s be aware of our class and adjust our buy-ins to it.

Hi, personally, I have not made a living in poker, but I disagree with the statement that poker cannot be the only source of income if you devote enough time to the game to win, and let's say your weekly win is equal to your salary, isn't it a means of earning money?

it doesn't have that stability that you imagine even playing the GTO you can spend months losing it's a high variation investment so if you have enough money to handle it you might win the variance

Forgive me, i can't agree with you.
Try playing poker without money and you will soon realize that you don't find fun in it. It is the money which creates thrill, suspense, action, drama and fun. And if you understand poker well then it might become a source of income for you.

we are a freeroll site where you can make $500 to a $1000 a year.
if you lose it all trying to make more you haven't lost anything

I do not understand your question! Poker is a game that can be profitable and you know how to be smart. The advice is that you don't gamble the money you can't spend. Never tell anyone that they cannot go for their dreams of winning a giant tournament. Hopefully some of us all take the big leap and change their lives.

There are amateurs, which might be losing longterm, however, its their hobby and every hobby costs money. As long as you are not addicted or cant afford. easy
