Does the chat comment affect you?

If the bet is very high, stress increases?

how does stress, some tennica in particular or only with experience decrease?

When you know why you are raising then it is not stressful. Usually you want a caller - otherwise how can you effectively increase your chip stack size?

You're bet is "very high"? If a big bet stresses you mentally then you may not be properly bankrolled for that game and you should consider dropping down in buy-in limits.

Control also affects stress levels.....are you always just calling? Or are you driving the action by being the raiser with good position.

Having good position should decrease stress levels because you are in more control.

Good luck !

Hi.
I play poker for about one year. At the moment, I am playing only in freerolls. I have never received stress from the game. I love poker and I just enjoy the game.

Good question!

I think that it depends on your character. As with everything in life some people are stressed out when playing with huge amounts of money, some not. Some people struggle to hold a gun in a fight, some not. Some won´t jump out of a plane, some do.

I would suggest everyone to find out his/her preferred stress level or preferred threshold because if you do not look for your "max" stress level you might come into situations you did not want to. Maybe you did not want to bet in that situation but nevertheless you did because your stress level negatively affected your actions.

Greets and all the best!

Chat comments don't affect me, but I try to affect people... Even though my actions are not based on what I'm trying to do.

That said, I will not try this if I'm with family or within this community. The only purpose is to earn money, not being an as...

affects mainly only in the emotional and psychological form, unless it is a detailed analysis of the specific distribution

Stress during play

If some ones trying to talk in live poker would be more stressing than online, but live talking is easier to pick up tells being in the presents of your opponents. With large bets is similar to the talking stress situations with me also, and yes agreed the more experience poker player you are is a stress reliever.

I think poker is only stressful if you play at the top of your bankroll. If you play lower stakes, the game seems to go a lot smoother.

I get stressed out when I go card dead in both cash games and tournaments. I get stressed when I get coolered over and over again.

Usually when that happens though I just take an extended break to calm down. Going on tilt during a downswing only makes it worse.

After watching a few players call each other names (like stupid), I have totally tuned-out all comments.
The stress I experience, is when I make a stupid move. I expect to take bad beats, because I have zero luck, but making mistakes is when I feel the stress. This is about me against myself.
Yes medication can help, but bankroll management can minimize stress the most.

If poker is stressing you out you probably need to drop in stakes to where you are more comfortable.

1) Comment does not affect me. Some players have tried to talk trash to hurt my feelings, but they were barking up the wrong tree I have no feelings but they did and didn't like to take their own medicine!!
2) I play my game. The bet they make is up to me to call or not based on my game!
3) I was never stressed so it can't decrease!:D:D

I find that while chat can affect people into tilting easily...i notice most players tend to tilt when they lose a hand with a stronger hand...esp when some ass ppays a 5-8 offsuit vs KK and someone ricers a 2 pair lol...its sad but thats usually when most get super tilted

Yes, without a doubt. If you're playing outside of your bankroll or are trying to actually make a living, its' gonna hurt when you run bad for a while or get unlucky. In practicality--it's called variance and it happens to everyone. But there's a reason why many folks have taken long breaks or even quit altogether the game of poker. Playing for recreation, sure, that is feasible and at times fun. But if you're trying to make a living well, you're gonna have to take a lot of hits to your chin before pay dirt.

Poker is fun, disregard bad comments and laugh. Don't worry about big bets, they may save you $$$$.

yes it is at times for everyone. But if u prepare have a game plan (strategy) you are familiar and comfortable with you should sit down at table with confidence that ur technique's will work and this will relieve a lot of the anxiety, But theres always gonna be a little with all in showdowns and bad beats. I feed off of it myself.....the more u play/win the more comfortable you will become. good luck at the tables...:icon_boun:star:

Wasn't back in the day until BLACK FRIDAY when all the sites went down. Now it's hard to find an honest online poker site to play on from the comfort of your own home and make money.

The poker game is not stressful at all if if you can live with the idea of losing all the bankroll. Otherwise you will have that scary thought in your mind and this will affect you.

Stay within your bankroll, treat the game as fun and after you are rivered fort the umpteenth time learn to treat the game as the joke it is.
You will feel stress if you treat this game seriously and try to win money from it.
The casinos feel know stress, they just continue to get rich from the rake.

Does the chat comment affect you?
It can do, some rude and nasty comments for sure. But it shouldn't affect the game. Although, I'm aware that recreational players often get angry, when they're losing. It's actually a good indicator, because the good regulars or pros never do such comments usually. But if you can't cope with the rude comments at online poker, the best thing is to keep chat closed.
If the bet is very high, stress increases?
Yes, definitely it can be. Therefor the best advice on that - know your limits and play accordingly, stick to a solid bankroll management and you'll never have "scared money" feeling. Play always with the money you can afford to lose and don't think of it, as it were real money. The money in poker is not like the money in your wallet, it's more like money, that you're investing in some business. If things go wrong, you may lose them and it's fine, because you know about risks and you have it already calculated. Basically, in ideal case, you shall forget about money and playing only cards, players and situation. Any other thoughts will be distracting you from the game and causing bad decisions.
how does stress, some tennica in particular or only with experience decrease?
Yes, of course, with the experience, knowledge and understanding the game better, stress from losing will decrease more and more with each Million of hands you have played. Some day it will become nearly a routine. Although it won't completely go away. Even professionals do have stress at downswing times, when they see their bankroll melting and they lose money, no matter what they do. It's just part of the game and either you take it or leave it.
