Shoving with any pair in that circumstance was definitely the right move. His button range was really wide so I wouldn't have been surprised if he had folded to your push. Nice run and result.

Ok folks here's a thing. If you want to win MTTs and stuff then you need to be able to not give a 2nd thought to hands like that last one. Take the loss and move on.

I genuinely didn't flicker when he hit on that hand. I know there's plenty of people on here who would be complaining in similar circumstances that they "should" have won more as he "should" have folded. It was 50/50 I lost, so let it go, it doesn't matter, it's done.

Play right and the wins will come. Never, ever, ever let it wind you up, cause it's a much harder game to play if you have a sense of injustice about it. The cards really don't care.

This is extremely good advice and pretty much crucial to being a MTT player. Guess that's why I suck at mtts lol. I mean obviously it's true for all poker but when you're grinding cash and have other tables and stuff it's eas(ier)y to shrug it off, but in an mtt you've gotten that deep and invested that much time to lose a 1k+ flip. But you're absolutely right, the cards could care less what's fair or what has happened in the past. That's one thing I admire about you as you have the outlook that not many people have yet all of the best winning players have. Good job.

i actually think that you can be underrolled for live poker and play low-variance smallball poker and pretty much be guaranteed to be up money (ie: you win like 3 pots in position by firing two barrels against peoples who look weak, then get caught bluffing once, then win a half-stack all-in because they are stations with house money)

simple as whistlin' dixie

yeah it is pretty sick how easy of a game it can be, I like it way better than my normal game of 1/2 even. Although ive yet to get "unlucky" like losing with a set or losing with AA or KK, or running KK into AA. I hope I never do, but lets see how it goes....upswong forever!!

Underolled, yup, im playing 2/5 with a $2500 live bankroll lol, hold my 5 BI...hold.

Its so ballin, 1 guy to my left even told me how tight I was yesterday (was SO card dead, no bluffing this table) then he proceeds to call my standard $30 pfr the very next hand, along with 3 others.(guess ill make it $45 next time lol) Of course I have KK and 4 callers but flop is a glorious A43, oh well....
