Hi Jeff,

I would like to ask you for some pointers on hyper turbo 9-handed NLHE.

The blinds increase so extremely fast and most of the times i reach the FT short-stacked:eek:

Your advice will be much appreciated:)

Hi Jeff

okay?

How could you build on emotional control on and off the tables?

How can I work to reach a stakeholders mind?

And even, what advice would you give to those who procrastinate daily tasks?

Regards Matheus, have a good day!

Remember it’s not the dealer’s fault and that you can only control your decisions, not the outcome.

Really when you make your money primarily from poker (or partially can be too) determines if your a pro. That depends about action, for home games can hurt you specially w/ good tournament results.

I think tournaments are currently more plentiful of beginning/weaker players (online for sure). Live cash can be good as well. Hope this helps!

What are the main strategy differences between cash and tourney?

My favorite hand is K9 suited. I seem to be lucky with it. how ever I learned not to go with favorites. My favorite finished hand is the larger boat that wins lol. I try to fold a lot. I try not to go with A rag. Is that smart or dumb. Please let me know that answer
Sincerely, steven
K9s is a solid hand but often dominated! In a 3 bet pot you flop QJT and AK a very likely hand has you beat. You want to play nutted hands such as pairs to make sets; straights that can make the nuts etc. Suited aces are good bluff hands to 3bet w/ pre flop for example pre flop. Depends on going w/ A rag if your short stacked and what pos and vs who but yes I generally like this thinking to not!

The biggest thing about cash and tournaments is that cash you are almost always deep stacked and people can top up at any time. In tournaments the stack sizes start out the same but quickly change. This means you must be comfortable to play at various stack depths against other various stack depths. That is the biggest difference!

Yes! So true, hurts me when see people berate the dealers! It's not about what happens, how you react to what happens!

JJ from early pos is a very tough hand to play, specially when goes multi way! The best way is to raise standard raise, proceed w/ caution! Remember if it goes multi way even a ten high flop is not always so safe... Ppl can flop sets, two pair, straights, flushes (118 to 1 to flop a flush) but don't be looking to play a massive pot here normally. Pot Control!

Hi jeff,
1) I usually makes a small deposit spin it up to about 150 playing what I consider to be sensible poker. I invariably seem to end up losing it back to players playing for impossible odds...like in a series of ten tournaments i'll be hit by 5% outers 8 or 9 times
how can I counter this kind of thing...it cant be statistical variance if so its some legendary variance

2) do you play with a hud and what are your thoughts about people who do

thanks

Thanks Jeff. Is it better to start off playing fewer hands at the beginning of the tournament?

I like to play a bit more hands early, getting in to post flop situations in position at early stages is very advantageous & people make big mistakes post flop so seeing flops I like w/ a wider range early on.

I just wrote out a sizable reply and it didn't go thru! ouch!.. let's try again.

1) Yes I can sympathize w/ your frustration. I certainly have run very poorly thru lengthy stretches in poker and it is not fun when the world seems against you! I would suggest dropping stakes, playing less tables, talking w/ friends about hands (not 2 outers or coolers but genuinely tough spots and things you aren't for sure on)

2) I do play w/ a HUD. I use PT4 when I play/stream on Twitch. This becomes more relevant when you play more tables and need to make some quick decisions when haven't been super focused on a table in a close spot. It can't hurt to use even basic settings. If you are interested I have a link on my website: JeffGrossPoker.com/affiliation

Hope this helps!

Regards Matheus, have a good day!

1) I have practiced this over the years, it takes time. I also work w/ Elliot Roe & his mind control course.

2) A Stakeholders mind? Not sure what you mean on this, mind set is key and takes time. You need to play your best

3) This is difficult one and comes from within. I find I take on too much often & get spread thin once start many things at once. Doing one thing at a time seems to be the best practice!

This happens to me as well sometimes, making Final Tables is amazing feat! I would suggest to go for it a bit more, shove first in w/ some marginal holdings w/ 10-16 left to stay more relevant. You will take 12-16 more but also 1-3 more which is where the lion share of the money is!

Thank you for your attention Jeff.

About that mental course, what basic tips would you give to us that we do not have daily practice?

About the second question, I wanted to refer to a winning mind, in relation to the adversities of life ... Ester thinking positive even when everything is collapsed in your head.

About procrastination, I have divided into small tasks and not very extensive. So I can focus more easily and finalize the pendant.

But sometimes, I do not have the same animus in doing something ... especially when things go bad on the off poker side.

What advice would you give us not to mix one thing with another?

HAVE A NICE DAY!
