I have met people who have lost all their money playing poker, a cousin who was traveling, started playing poker at the bus station and even lost his clothes.

One of the most famous poker anecdotes involves the legendary poker player Doyle Brunson. During a high-stakes game, his opponent tried to intimidate him by boasting about how much money he had. Doyle calmly responded, “I’m not playing your money, I’m playing your cards.” This perfectly highlights poker’s essence as a game of strategy and mind over material wealth. Another great story is about the 2003 world series of poker winner, Chris Moneymaker, who turned a $39 online satellite entry into $2.5 million, proving that anyone can rise from obscurity to greatness in poker with skill, determination, and a little luck.

— Mom, I played poker yesterday and now I'm moving out of your apartment.
— Good news, congratulations!
-- Thanks. You're moving out too.

The student asks the professor
-is it possible to win a poker hand with any two cards before the flop?
the professor answers
-yes, but it's just a theory because it doesn't happen in practice!
the student happy says
-then I really like poker because I will only use the theory version when I play !!

-What do you love most about poker?
--Well, money, gambling, people...

-What do you dislike most about poker?
--Well, losing money, falling into a gambling trap, people I can't beat...

Then the pleasant is almost the same as the unpleasant!

-Who knows how many steps it takes to successfully start a poker game?

you need to sleep
you need to work to have start-up capital
you need to take a shower
need to eat

-is there still time for a game of poker afterwards?

of course there is not enough time, so you need to do everything quickly!
-Win or lose, it has to happen quickly so you can again
you need to sleep
you need to work to have start-up capital
you need to take a shower
need to eat.....

This isn’t precisely a poker anecdote, but here’s what happened years ago.
The late Prince of Denmark held his annual invational bridge tournament. Gus Hansen was invited and said yes. However, Gus didn’t know the rules, but took a crash course an hour before the tournament started. Low and behold, Gus and his partner won the tour. This was the talk of town some days in Copenhagen. Especially amongst us who are anti royalists. As winners Gus and his partner was invited to a high snobbity royal hunting party. Gus politely declined.

I have many anecdotes in poker, one of many is when in a hurry I went all in preflop with 74 and my opponent paid me with KK, and to my surprise I ended up winning the hand and the pot was very big.
