As Chris Ferguson (2000 world series of poker Main Event Winner) said: A day in poker is 90% luck and 10% skill. A year in poker is 10% luck and 90% skill. I agree with him here, I also believe that if you do everything right in poker, then victory will be on your side. The dealer deals you a card and after that everything depends on your decisions. You choose the hand with which you enter the game, and you also have the choice to fold. After you see the flop, you decide to continue the game or you also have the opportunity to fold if one of your opponents made a bet. Poker is a game that is entirely made up of your decisions, no one forces you to pay money here by force). And of course there are bad beats, coolers and dominations - these are exactly the 10% of luck that Chris Ferguson talked about.

Convincing an opponent that his card is stronger than mine, but at the same time beating him is a very important component of poker for me. I am constantly learning this.
Is it luck or skill?
It's just poker.

In my opinion, we should learn to dance with both.
However, you need to have Skill to be able to count on luck. But you don't need luck to be able to count on the Skill.

What do you consider more important: luck or skill in poker?
Luck is definitely more important. If you are lucky, then your skill simply does not matter. But if you are unlucky, then despite all your skill and professional skills, you will not be able to achieve a good result.

In live poker the skill prevails on the long run . On the short run the lick might cause some bad runs and downswings , if you survive this skill will prevail and lead you to to wins

Of course skill is the most important thing in poker, You can't win a poker tournament without skills. Tournaments are long, with many players of different levels entering, so skill is needed to survive and win the tournament. Luck may come in one or two hands of the game, but what will make you earn money is skill.

As a casual student of poker, with a small library, I understand that both skill and luck are part of the game. However, we need to be careful on how we define "luck" in the game. The place most players blame luck is on the river, when an opponent "get's lucky" and catches their card to win. Yes, we can call it luck, but it is actually "probability". That player had a small chance of getting the card or two needed to win - and they did. Lucky for them.
Skill comes into play when knowing whether or not to bet, call, raise, and by how much to ensure that over the long-term, you are winning those hands where the opponent is losing those lucky draws.

Poker is 80% skill and 20% luck. But in microlimits it's the other way around

Over the short term, luck can have a significant impact on the outcome of individual hands and sessions. Even the best players can experience bad beats or winning streaks due to the randomness of card distribution.
However, over the long term, skill tends to prevail.
